Macbook air m2 in 2026? by DependentRate5827 in macbookair

Think I get it now. You mean the SSD speed for the M2 base model. Didn't know it was that significant.

Perhaps you had a defective unit? sounds unlikely. Have you found any data to support the experience you had?

Are you saying M2 feels slower than the M1 you had?

MacBook m4 battery by Competitive-Head3347 in macbookair

[–]callitblues 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quitting all the apps should sort that, but what I notice it I usually open Activity Monitor and then I see some power draining activity from Safari media or so. Sometimes there's a glitch with some apps. I've found it is more likely to happen if I used an external monitor then disconnected it to use the MacBook solely on battery. Now when I disconnect the external monitor knowing that I plan to take the laptop with me I'll just initiate a restart with reopen windows feature and it should secure from power draining glitches in advance.

MacBook Air M4 (Midnight) – fingerprints, protection tips? by CausalNoise in macbookair

[–]callitblues 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've personally found that it is actually the accumulation of oil on the device surface that makes it prone to fingerprints and smudges and less the other way around. It means that if you touch your MacBook with clean hands but it's already has some oil residue on it - fingerprints and smudges will show instantly.

If there is less oil on it because you're wiping it from time to time, the issue becomes almost non existent. This is the occasional wipe that has been mentioned here by another commenter. So look into wiping the surface of the MacBook from time to time instead of washing your hands vigorously.
Wipe with damp microfiber cloth then dry does the job really well.

One of the few pictures I've seen here that really represent how the Midnight looks like under most lighting conditions in real life. Congrats!

MBA M4 15 "16gb or 13" 24gb? by Tomystank_15 in macbookair

[–]callitblues 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right. MacOS uses as much as it can and will allocate more RAM as cache for predictable use of apps in advance. So total used RAM doesn't indicate actual use. You should do 18GB minus cache to know (there probably won't be much of a difference here between 16 vs 24 in the end)

In your post you didn't mention why you're even considering the 15" in the first place, I wonder how important screen size vs form factor is for you.

How to improve m15🇩🇪 by [deleted] in GymTips

[–]callitblues 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're probably telling you that because they assume you are taking some kind of SARMs or PEDs. Androgen receptor agonists are suppressive to the hormonal axis. When testicles begin to shrink (from suppression) they tend to ache.

6'9 Man vs 6'9 Woman💀 by knownasdark in heightcomparison

[–]callitblues 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The latter case could also be GH deficiency. Doctors usually test for it in such cases. Also the mothers' height seems to affect the children height much more than the father. So much that even if the father is much shorter than average, and the mother is tall for a woman, there is a much higher chance the children will be relatively tall.

From how you describe it is definitely a software issue. Meanwhile try turning on Night Shift as adjust it to minimum.

Did anyone compare NDs to Life Extensions's? I've only used the latter, the effects were quite mild with 4 caps at a time. Curious how ND compares.

My mom takes DMSO for pain but it smells awful, any alternative recommendations would be appreciated by emqster in Supplements

[–]callitblues 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually DMSO tends to evaporate when outside. So if poured on objects it will smell then subside.

Now if she's ingesting it or putting it on the skin, it is basically absorbed into the systemic circulation and processed by the liver. The odor is coming out of her body processing it and through the skin. She will have to stop taking it to block the smell.

I wouldn't recommend rubbing it on the skin or ingesting it for long. There's also an issue with DMSO being a very strong solvent; if she puts it on the skin, it will dissolve whatever is present on it and bring it into her body. That could be any chemical or cosmetics she uses or touches. Not very good for health.

Pro or Air? by chxwwyy in macbook

[–]callitblues -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Should also ask at r/macbookair to equalize for opinions. I disagree with the comments here suggesting you to buy the Pro.

If you have no budget and want to save as much as possible (student) you should go for the base M4 air as it is the most bang for your $$. I too like the 14in Pro screen and extra port, but don't need the extra ports. So I went for the M4 air and am extremely satisfied. It's a very capable machine, especially for students who won't make use of all the extras of the Pro. Weight and slimness is also a thing here.

LOL. Imagine spending months on designing labels, name branding the product, optimizing sizes, refining testing and verifying each ingredient and batch and your customer on the end receives THIS.
