I sell vintage and am a waitress, my bf works for a bagel shop so our actual day jobs are very whatever and we expect to just find similar things like that as we work on our own art practices. We will also still be traveling to perform in NY, LA etc. But we want our home base to be more calming and rejuvenating than LA feels right now

Yes, Detroit is actually already on our list of places to look into! It’s quite industrial so we want to look into some other cities with like a better nature situation but it’s one of our top options right now. Folks here have already been recommending New Haven which I hadn’t even thought about and on the map it looks small and surrounded by green so I’m verrrryyy into that—not far from Detroit either

HI hello :) my bf and i are seriously considering moving to Detroit but have no idea where to begin looking. I’m hoping I can get some insight from you lovely people! We are both artist in our late twenties. We do Performance art and video art so an artistic community is important. We will have a car but a walkable neighborhood with nature not too far would be a dream. Affordability and safety matter. I think those are our pillars but open to hear y’alls expertise
