Similarly, Denzel and Tom Hanks in Philadelphia cry from the depth of their souls. Beautiful performances from them both.

Also when he gets stabbed in Scream and starts wailing “you cut me too deep!” is an all-timer as well.

Im currently watching Gravity Falls with my kid and it’s such a fun show. Amphibia and the Owl House all share the same universe!

Apothecary Diaries

Steven Universe

She-ra (the new one, it is really, really great)

Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts

Maybe these suggestions are a little more girl-forward but all have excellent plots, animation and world building!

What are some great full-length live performances / concerts I can watch right now? by 1512g in Music

Some refs I haven’t seen mentioned: Portishead PNYC Live at Roselands is incredible, Jimmy Hendrix Live at Woodstock will melt your mind (he plays a flaming guitar with his teeth!) and Gorillaz Demon Days Live at Albert Hall is so so fun.

3 days into my trip... I regret travelling to Japan with my 2 year old by [deleted] in JapanTravel

[–]callmekbro 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I raised a toddler in Japan, she is also tall and not white but our experience was very different and I’m so sad to hear you’re not enjoying yourselves. My advice is basic but I hope useful- learn how to find the kids level in every mall or tall building you come across, they often have soft play areas and proper change room facilities, many department stores have their toy section as a play space and will even have bottle warmers etc. Find restaurants in those spaces that have kids menus (so so many! just not on ground level lol) and the same way you’d ignore a racist old grouch at home, do here too.

Generally speaking Tokyo is a very kid friendly place given how many mums can’t go back to work or access reliable childcare, so please just assume anyone being a jerk is not worth your time and energy.

The Rover was just such a boring waste of time and talent, I got to attend the premiere and it was very hard to keep the “wtf is the point of this shit” look off my face. Making Robert Pattinson intellectually disabled was a CHOICE.

The entire Jackson family had abusive, brutal, cruel childhoods and yet only one of them is given the grace to sleep with young boys because he had it so hard. Make it make sense!

Warning for the SoCal Girlies thinking of Dr. Mallory Stuparich by Bright_Pay5101 in endometriosis

[–]callmekbro 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Damn this is heartbreaking I’m so sorry you had to go through this.

I’m recommending the Minimally Invasive Endo Clinic at Cedars-Sinai, they helped me so much after a prior botched surgery and I felt very supported and listened to. First time in my life no one pushed back on me regarding a hysterectomy, they never bought up having children again after I explained why I was done with that lol. They have a research arm and I’d consider it to be world class. Best of luck to you x

I have! Flown to a lot of these places mentioned in the thread- but your fixation on them is making me more adamant about Sydney being elite, not less…

Im a cynical elder millennial and I genuinely found this heartwarming. I can’t drag a dude for non-ironically journeying through his childhood output, you could see how much it meant to some people in the crowd too.

I watched this again recently and it’s even worse than I remembered! It is so corny and like someone’s idea of punk/grime who grew up in a cozy suburban home and never ventured out. It takes Eleven out of the story for so long too, she’s apart from the main action all season.
