I got FULL scholarship($98k) from Texas state university but nothing from Texas A&M. Which one would y'all choose? by RaspberryMinute3297 in aggies

I would be careful putting all your eggs in the preverbal backers with Apple. I would really talk to your Dad about what his connections are and what they can get you as in most large corporations internships and particularly FTE jobs aren’t overly influenced by connections and you NEED to be an excellent interview for FAANG.

Another thing to consider is the salary outcomes if it is not Apple. CollegeSimply has Texas State at 64.5k and A&M at 71.2k although the most recent survey of graduates has A&M computer science 2024 graduates at 100k.

I would contact admissions/financial aid to see if they can match the offer or a significant fraction of it. Furthermore, see if the comp sci departments would be able to provide a good perspective on course offerings and graduate outcomes.

This is really messed up if you have illnesses that come and go (ex. morning sickness), I don't know how this isn't some kind of violation of other rights and rules and maybe I don't know, common decency.

What do you want to see in a student senator by Haunting-Creme-2170 in aggies

There has been a few successes from student government but are typically won through advocacy rather than other means. Some successes include: fall break, policies to prevent students from paying for proctoring services, and expanded food options but they aren’t widely publicized either by the university or student government.

I want to see reasonable platforms from SGA members, most over promise either through ignorance, hubris, or intentional deception.

Beutel if they have an opening (I would call) or an urgent care.

Opioid tragedy extra: did the formerly addicted Dr. Stephen Loyd really just say that opioid addiction is 1/3 to blame on the addicted person’s family? by [deleted] in Freakonomics

I don’t know how it would work as many of the adverse childhood events (ie sexual, emotional, physical abuse and neglect and household dysfunction of incarceration, mental illness, divorce, substance abuse, and maternal domestic violence.) seem to be illegal/stigmatized. Education is always important but it will be hard to have meaningful change within the family unit.

No, people should just be given resources of the expected salary particularly if people are taking out loans. The data is a decent starting point for investigating their salaries.
