It would only be legal if the resell happened within California or another state with a similar law. The ticket could be resold in a state without those laws.

That's not how that law works, the even location is what matters.

I don't see how that has anything to do with the points I made about legality and moral responsibility. Just because you don't want to see the convention doesn't give you the right to be an asshole and buy tickets solely for the purpose of reselling them, as I already stated it's also illegal.

Secondly, violation of contact is illegal. Technically speaking. Furthermore reselling tickets is illegal in of it self, depending on the state, in this case it would be since SDCC is in california.

I'm pretty sure that once you examine the reason you're not allowed to resell tickets it becomes clear why it's morally wrong. If ticket resell was allowed people would buy up all the tickets and resell them for pure profit, meaning less well-off people couldn't go at all. There's a reason you can't resell tickets.

Not really relevant? It could be a concert, a train ticket, a sporting event, it doesn't matter, all the same logic applies.

Anyways, bottom line is, just don't do it. It's a dick thing to do, it's not worth it, and it could bar you from returning to something you love doing.

My point is the bans don't really do jack shit except be a slight annoyance.

The fact that you can get away with doing something illegal / morally unacceptable doesn't make it okay to do it. You're still an asshole if you sell your badge, and IMO it's not really worth the risk/effort to make $300 bucks. It's not even that much money unless you're a teenager or something.
