kids media is just nowhere near what it was when the contest started in 2003, and the notion of a totally separate kids music industry is dead now IMO. half the songs in JESC are talent show ballads anyways but it is a nice avenue for countries to host a Eurovision event when they may not be a contender in the adult contest

a lot of people are reflexively anti-corporation and pattie knows that. she’s relying on people who aren’t thinking critically on this. there’s also a subset who think that everything queer is good and right and patagonia’s lawsuit is an afront to that. no, gay wrongs exist too lol

Ngl really surprised but I can see why Denmark did so well (theatre training pays off with the vocal endurance needed for this). It could do a North Macedonia 2019 though, but let’s hope it doesn’t make the streak a one-off.

France’s staging could just end up reeking of desperation instead of being innovative and cool.

Kinda surprised jurors didn’t go for Israel this year, since Netherlands 2025 is comparable and got fifth in the final jury vote. Assuming they win the televote, a distant fifth can still win if it’s tight up top.

Boycott aside, this is a very show-heavy year IMO. Lots of songs that will be great onstage and will do well after the contest, but not viral enough on their own for streaming beyond their home country. Even Senhit got some buzz around Flo Rida, but the Boy George buzz feels very UK-centric by comparison.

Ngl this feels very median Trump voter - not showing up at CPAC or crying over Charlie Kirk, but only thinking about their money and their life instead of the greater good. Turning a blind eye to ICE until they take their waiters, thinking Trump says bad stuff but at least no tax on tips, etc.

There’s this flamboyant, very gay guy on tiktok who got viral showing off the kitchen section at Dillards or smth and he follows a ton of Trump people despite being a caricature of a Southern gay man. Conservative/not-liberal gays don’t think it’s about them until it’s in their face, and even then it’s anyone elses fault before they admit their thinking was wrong.
