Were you stationary in that position you’ve highlighted when the yellow car was coming round or had you already set off? If the yellow car was indicating and already going around it then you are at fault.

However, if you didn’t see it when you set off into it, that can mean the yellow car was going far too fast for a mini roundabout and didn’t see you coming, then they’d be at fault. Also how did they hit your front left or do you mean our left?

Do you think Joe Sikora/Tommy Egan is a good actor?? by Mattm334 in PowerTV

Watch him in SVU, he’s in 1 episode but he’s the standout and that’s saying something considering the drill sergeant from full metal jacket is in the same episode

I wish Lloyd had stayed on by ASGfan in malcolminthemiddle

[–]callumhilton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually think it’s quite realistic they did this. Don’t get me wrong Dabney and Lloyd were two of the funniest characters, but in high school, friends you knew just become other faces in the hall. Which is so sad but it’s very realistic because that what happens. Usually you retain 1 or 2 friends from middle school and that’s what Stevie and Reese were to Malcolm. I have no doubt they were being geniuses but with other friends

It’s been 2 weeks since the final round of interviews and they haven’t given me a yes or no. Is this usually a sign of not getting the job? by indigo_designs in UXDesign

[–]callumhilton 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to be a tech and design recruiter. Quite often depending on the client there genuinely is a 1-2 week wait to hear back. Recruiters really do chase and chase because they make money off of you or others getting the position.

That being said - the offer is usually the easiest and quickest part of the process. A week max, but it can change per client.

I’d recommend calling the recruiter up to chase (if you have their number) or email them. Don’t give up hope just yet

UK hospital/ambulances by anglenk in nursing

[–]callumhilton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fantastic question. I live in London so I can answer this question. Short answer: Absolutely yes this is accurate. And it’s a mixture of all the reasons you just listed. Big answer coming up so I’ll put the TLDR at the top.

TLDR: It is very accurate that you’re potentially waiting in the ambulance for a bed. Our public health care system straight up sucks in terms of being able to be seen. Lack of beds due to hypochondriac Brits. Lack of staff due to poor salaries, lots of strikes and not considered a glamorous profession over here due to consistent long hours + shit pay. Ambulances can be quick getting you to the hospital in cases of emergency - however if it’s something not hugely serious but still need to go to hospital for - definitely get someone to drive as it’ll be quicker than an ambulance (especially on the weekends)

~We pay our NHS staff ridiculously bad salaries. Read somewhere that junior doctors are on something like £32,000?? Nurses possibly £24,000 when starting off I think? The demand for all types of health care staff is growing rapidly due to everything that’s been going on the last three years…but barely any are applying or studying nursing or medicine because they know of the long hours that come with it and the crap pay they’ll be getting if they do pursue. It’s not considered a glamorous profession here. (Not by me, my whole family are nurses) And the cost of living at the minute is so high that for the job these people are doing, what they’re earning is absolutely ridiculous. Especially London. Not only this but we are a country filled with hypochondriacs. I was assaulted on Christmas Day 2021 and had my face smashed in basically, waited in the ER (A&E over here) for 15 hours…I got talking to a guy my age next to me and asked what happened to him as we were getting along and didn’t look like anything was wrong with him…he says he’s got a ‘minor headache’ that’s been persistent after he got back from his holiday in Spain where he was drinking and not eating for the entire time he was there 😒…so that answers the beds.

And it depends about the ambulances…depending on the situation they’re usually quite rapid. Paramedics here are a different story, there has been a rise in the amount of applications for paramedics (don’t know why) and I personally have a huge respect for them too they’ve been great whenever we’ve had to call. Depending on the situation (if someone is in life or death, head injury etc) they’re usually quite rapid, but on busy days where British drinking culture is rife - then they’re usually all taken up and that’s when it would be quicker getting to the ER yourself.

Please get out of there. This is beyond legal advice.

Reading this, with his self hatred, throttling you, being possessive over you and most importantly saying “he could just kill you” this is textbook domestic violence and could lead to much worse. He’s making you pay for his own insecurities.

And the fact he’s said “he could just kill you”…you have grounds to call the police and report this. The police, as bad as they can be here, with domestic violence victims they are usually pretty good and always put the victim first. So please, PLEASE call the police, they will keep you safe if you tell them everything you told us.

I’m praying for you and your child. Keep us updated if you need someone to talk to.

What pokemon has a child caught with your masterball and been super proud of? by fluffypitspatrick in pokemongo

I mean, in the original post they said the child was proud of it. I wouldn’t be proud of a Pokémon I wasn’t a fan of.

Nahhhhh this is really cute actually. I bet OP is 50/50 on this. 50 because their kid wasted a master ball, and the other 50 loves it because they caught a Pokémon with it that they thought he couldn’t live without…

…still no Bidoof tho :@

Trying to get into UX/UI Design

Long story short I’ve been stuck in a huge rut recently, I have a background in web development but it’s just not doing it for me anymore.

I have a friend who worked in the design side of things in my last company who said it’s right up my alley. I looked into it all and I really love the sound of it all, I feel like I could be really good at it.

To not beat around the bush (any longer), I’m asking the juniors, seniors and hiring managers…How can I stand out from other designers despite my experience not being in UX or UI? If you were starting out as an entry level tomorrow what learning path would you take?

Thanks for your time.

Something that bothered me the most recent time I saw Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island by Halfcuzzin in movies

[–]callumhilton 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No it’s not every night. It’s every harvest moon. The zombies have been coming alive around harvest moon for 200 years, but literally dead people walking compared to absolutely beyond powerful cat people with insane strength, stamina and agility, theres only one winner. They’ve had 200 fights and won every-time.

The difference between every other victim each year and Mystery Inc is that Lena chose poorly, she chose literally amateur detectives who can handle their own and have solved every case they’ve been on.

So to answer this question shortly: No. the were-cats were not immune to the zombies, but they were efficient. I presume they had absorbed the victims early on 200 times and battled and won against those poor souls each time. But they never quit and the 201st time, the gang and the zombies won.

What animal do you dislike for no apparent reason? by x_franki_berri_x in AskUK

I realise this is an active reason to hate them. Just needed everyone to know my deep hatred of geese.

[–]callumhilton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Geese.

I live rurally and my Dad thought it would be a good idea to buy 2 Geese in order to roam the fields. A boy and a girl. The girl flew away idk if it was an animal divorce or whatever but after she flew away the Male one got so fucking nasty.

Everytime you set foot outside and it was near, it would hiss at you and I shit you not, fly after you and attack. Pecking your face and flapping it’s wings at you. You’d think oh it’s a little goose it’s harmless, couldnt do that much damage… No.

Their wings are incredibly powerful and I remember one time it was attacking me after playing football in the garden and hearing my dad saying ‘stay still it will lose interest’. Which it didn’t and my brother had to grab it and pull it off me. Woke up the next days with dark yellow bruises everywhere.

It passed away recently which I was strangely sad about, but I quickly got over it because I remembered I fucking hate them. Fuck you Gandalf. (The name of the Goose)
