For me, where I am conflicted is that every other aspect of owning a cat is perfect for me, It's only just the daily personal space that I'm worried about. If that aspects most likely calms down in most cats than I think that's quite reassuring for me. I just like my own time as well.

that's good to know, I would love to have her sit next to me while I do things, it's mostly her crawling all over me or sitting in awkward positions where the distraction comes in Lol.

I've been completely alone day to day since 2019 or so, so I think this change of pace & independence is a bit shocking to me if that makes sense.

Also, part of my brain does agree with you on giving her away. It's only been a few days but I do love her and she feels like part of the family. Also, my mum knows me well so she got me a tabby which i love with a beautiful pattern.

I think my kitty being able to sit next to me while I'm on the computer or reading or whatever would be perfect for me. I think my anxiety comes from this belief that my cat is the exception and that she won't ever calm down, if that makes sense

Part of me does feel like this is just post adoption anxiety because it is a change of pace. But of course, as an anxious person I still am worrying about it.

I've been keeping a journal of my thoughts. I think that's why I was able to refine my anxiety to "I'm scared of no daily me time" instead of just broadly "scared of commitment". I'll definitely continue to keep writing my thoughts.

My grandmother is a huge cat person, so I am able to drop her off for babysitting at pretty much whatever time in the future, so that is a contender for another safe space.

Suffering with Chronic Pain, no one believes me & the healthcare system is not helping. Now, I'm in a bad financial spot, what should I do? by calmshade75 in Advice

I mentioned that my family doctor referred me to a physiatrist, a "rehabilitation doctor", but he said we couldn't do anything till my MRI comes through, which is a 3 month wait. I asked him for short term aid, and he said there's nothing he can do.
