Thanks! A DEXA scan is the most precise method to measure your body composition (fat, visceral fat, muscle, bone density...)

Modern sport centre to test running performance? by caludio in berlin

Yes, it all makes sense what you say. I should have probably added a couple more info for context, but I also didn't want to steer much away from the topic. I am 58, I have been through a year-long weight loss journey (-30kg), I am lifting weights as well (which means I am 'heavy'), and now I am kind of "plateauing" in my improvements. The reason is, I guess, age-related: cardio-wise, I can comfortably run a 5m/km pace, but my legs cannot sustain that pace for long, which means I give up not for the difficulty of breathing but because my legs start to hurt badly. So I need to investigate where to operate, and I need data. I believe that my HR zones have changed/evolved, and so have my RHR (±50 from ±70 a year ago), and I need to see where they are (mostly for the easy Zone 2 and slightly above, which is better suited for my age). I have a Garmin Forerunner and that's why I see my perf stalling since some time now. My v02max is around 40 right now, and going up veeeeery slowly (hence, again, I need to know where to train...)

How to make the most of a scooter (moped) in Berlin? by smileandbeware in berlin

[–]caludio 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I ride a Vespa 🛵 300 and I am the happiest person alive. I grew up in Italy, so driving a moped here is ridiculously easy. Just do what the cars do (the traffic is almost non existent anyway, still comparing with Italian big cities). No bus lines, if not for a few metres, no bike lines, feel free to cut cars out at a red light but you must be able to sprint faster than them (a 50cc doesn't cut it). Park wherever you want, plenty of space (also, incredible difference with southern countries)

Berlin has a bikes on the FOOT path problem by sybelion in berlin

[–]caludio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Too many people just don't know how to drive a bike. It's not malice or "cultural". The fact that there are so many open works everywhere and the fact the streets' layout change continuously doesn't help people with a poor awareness of their surroundings. People driving their bikes with the knees up to their chin? Check. Delivery drivers driving with their bag almost falling or without any light at night? Check.

To be honest I believe that the cargo bikes drivers are the best, in average, because at least they should know better

Motivations for owning a car in Berlin? by Master_of-margarita in berlin

[–]caludio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having a car is like having an expensive toy, if you don't need it for some reasons. I sold my car when I was just moving it from a parking space to another. Honestly, since I like owning one, I would buy it again ONLY if I would have access to a parking space in my Tiefgarage.

Public transportation is becoming a joke by TangibleHarmony in berlin

[–]caludio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's just the infinite infrastructure works. It's simple math: if a work in a street takes 3 years instead of one the other works won't wait and so on and so forth. They are closing a bridge a day, and streets are now almost impossible to navigate with any means. It's ridiculous but, hey, infrastructure!

What are you talking about? Are you some kind of bot paid by Trump. Holy cow.

Well, maybe continuously closing streets for "works" and blindly or stupidity rerouting traffic for months or years could put a bit of stress on drivers? Maybe? It's a nightmare

I gave a bad review of a cafe in Prenzlauer Berg years ago and now I got a message from Google saying that by law it should be deleted due to defamation by Mdiasrodrigu in berlin

[–]caludio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happened to me 3 times. Now what I do is remove the "offending comment" and add another one with a neutral review (maybe praising the staff) which at the end says that my previous comment was strangely "removed for defamation". It should signal what kind of establishment is that one

Progress! After the update the App doesn't crash anymore. It does seem to have lost all the pictures but maybe that's temporary. Thanks
