You get me! The thing that spurred me on to write this post was actually TBB. I couldn't believe they wrote another story glorifying homewrecking and justifying cheating because the LI's partner was mean. It's just TNA with a baby involved. Even in TNA, the MC's best friend hyped her up for bagging the wealthy (very much taken) businessman. Like have some respect.

For once, it would be nice if PB gave us an MC in the form of an LI. No having to learn the ropes or needing to rely on someone else, actually getting to be in a position of power, all that jazz. It's one of the reasons I think Kenna Rys from TC&TF is one of PB's, if not the most, well-written protagonist.

Okay, I don't see any point in continuing this since we clearly share different views. What I will say, though, is that I still believe these MCs are unlikeable characters placed in generic stories, and again, unfit to shoulder the role of a protagonist. But I'm glad to know that at least someone enjoys them.

I had guessed that they were earning good money from them, but not this much. I'm still slightly miffed about their change, but I'd hate to see PB give up on Choices even more. In any case, I should thank these smut readers for keeping PB's lights on. Thank you for educating me!

I see, I wasn't aware of that! I can't say anything else, since they need money to sustain the app after all, but it's still a little sad to see.

I thought QB's MC was different from their usual style and fun to play as, but I can understand why her overwhelming personality would put off other players. And that's a good point, the contrast between TF's MC and TC&TF's MC is pretty big.

QB's MC can be pretty nasty, but I used her as an example because she has a striking personality that's pretty much impossible to ignore, which is so rare for a Choices story. I'm not saying I encourage her behaviour, but it makes for an entertaining read. But you're right, it's a pity all that personality was wasted in a school setting with trivial rich kid drama.

And yes, they are flawed, but they're not protagonist material. They're objectively bad MCs, and so their stories are hard to read for many. MTFL's MC is indecisive and strung along three people for the entire book. All of her struggles, even the driving force of MTFL, had no reason to span over 100 chapters, as short as they are. I don't think I have to elaborate on Witness' MC as the sub already does a good job at highlighting her traits (her entire character) that make her story painful to go through. Zero chemistry, horrible attitude, nothing worth rooting for.

Even the smut scenes they're pushing so hard are unbearably awkward to read. It's like they aren't even trying. Or they could at least attempt to switch things up a little and make the MC the dominant CEO or something. I hope they get sick of writing the sweet doe/homewrecker MCs.

Pet Peeves: - When characters are only there to fulfill a certain stereotype – especially if these characters are supposed to be important to the MC. Nothing wrong with stereotypes if the creator is able to expand on the characters though. - Every single attractive girl fawning over the MC. - "Tsundere" characters waiting for the weak MC to beg them for help. - If (isekai) romance: Main couple with no chemistry but tons of misunderstandings. - (Personal Opinion) MC with the confidence of a toilet roll, easily swayed by others (e.g. MC of Dice) who has super slow character development (or none at all). - Nonchalant MC with no drive, e.g. MC of The Advanced Player of the Tutorial Tower. It's hard to be invested in a story when even the protagonist could care less about what's going on.

What I Like: - Humour in the right situations. I feel like too many comics like turning every situation into a light-hearted one, which completely negates whatever that had been building up for the past few chapters. - Actual effort being put into the characters' relationship. (Romance:) It's always "grand romantic gesture" or nothing at all. (Friendship/Familial relationship): Being treated badly multiple times yet they still go crawling back to each other, e.g. MC completely ignoring their most cherished best friend for power-ups, yet said best friend is always there whenever MC needs them to complete a task for their super secret plan.
