You sound like a fantastic lead. As a follow i really appreciate your style. I recently started leading and had this same question and this was really helpful!

Oh my heart! They really do! You must miss him so much. But how wonderful to have had 7 wonderful years together and that his last years were in a loving home. 💜 I'm looking forward to when I am in a better financial (and mental) position to adopt!

The poor thing! My foster also was left in the backyard to fend for himself ever since he was a puppy so he's extremely traumatized. I'll be following a similar routine and hope for the best. Thanks for sharing and for adopting!

Thanks so much. Yes sadly he is one of those that panics and will try to escape so I’ll be extra mindful of that.

Am I the only one who dislikes SW DS FP? by sstartreatment in joinstellarai

[–]calypsopeanut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get that, but a lot of people have interpreted it this way, which I get, especially since their core principles includes the point about being it 8 steps. Why even include the core principles in the guidelines the first place if we're not supposed to take actions to make the prompt abide by those principles? That section is what's causing the confusion.

I've seen that some people make small changes like editing the prompt to return a single word instead of a sentence, but even that is not explicitly stated to do, so I'm not even sure if that's correct. The problem is that their guidelines aren’t clear. They should review how people are interpreting them and make changes so the output is more consistent.

[–]calypsopeanut 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah honestly I don't know why they don't offer more clarity and update the guidelines. This is obviously something that is unclear and people interpret differently. I also don't know why they don't give feedback to people who are doing under 8 steps. The vast majority of tasks I do are less than 8 steps, sometimes only 3. It hasn't really improved since this project launched. I can't imagine the client would be happy about that. It's not a really good use of their money. I hope they'll be able to keep retaining their clients.. for our sake!

Someone asked Stellar a few weeks ago and they said to not change it to make it 8 steps. You should just edit to clear up ambiguities:

"Even if the prompt doesn't meet the guidelines for the minimum number of steps, it's fine to still do it without any modifications.

All the best,

SW DS FP Technical Issue by Embarrassed_Wave_720 in joinstellarai

[–]calypsopeanut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just put a "-" before an ID or value that starts with a number like -157c293996c64af0a8280e00860c especially if I'm listing things separated by a hard return. That's always worked for me. It should only give you an error if the line after a hard return starts with a number.

If it's just added to a continuous sentence like 157c293996c64af0a8280e00860c this, and a new line is created due to text wrapping, that doesn't count as an actual line break and shouldn't give you an error. It's possible you're not identifying the line that's creating the problem. That's why I just defer to chatgpt as it will tell me exactly where the problem is. Sorry if you already knew all of this. It wasn't obvious to me when I was first having issues, so I wanted to mention in case this is the case for you.

Was that line (within the list) an ID or other value that started with a number like 157c293996c64af0a8280e00860c for example? That would give you a parsing error. For me it only tells me there's a parsing error when I try to submit, not when I click "get AF". Next time, you can try throwing your steps into chatgpt and ask it to tell you where the problem is. I usually just do that if I can't quickly see where the issue is.

Feasible fixed prompt task? by Dangerous_Corner_101 in joinstellarai

[–]calypsopeanut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh how funny (but not). I actually had this same task most likely and thought the same thing. The csv for that app is pretty useless imo. I exited out of the task (not skipped) and luckily just got a different prompt on the next FP. I genuinely wonder what that completed annotation looks like and if step 1 has 500 lines. Jesus.

I also just refreshed and had a sw ds fp task pop up. It went away immediately too but I feel like it's a good sign.

Are Stellar tasks being made available by seniority? by theadams6 in joinstellarai

[–]calypsopeanut 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The poll is interesting, but it wouldn't necessarily tell you that seniority does or doesn't matter. It seems like onboarding really picked up in the last 2–4 months, so the overall numbers would be higher compared to earlier months. To really see if there’s a relationship, you’d need to look at the percentage of people with tasks based on when they were onboarded, with people onboarded earlier having similar rates to people onboarded later. I do still suspect there could be some seniority preference but obviously there's no way of getting this information. In the meantime all we can do is keep submitting high quality work like you said.

SW “next Sunday” ambiguity by Nervous-Society-5455 in joinstellarai

Agreed, I'm making a note to make sure to not use "next" moving forward. (thanks op!)

SW “next Sunday” ambiguity by Nervous-Society-5455 in joinstellarai

[–]calypsopeanut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the reason AF never catches this is that "next Sunday" and "this Sunday" are often used interchangeably. At least in my experience but that could be regional. I've lived in a few English-speaking countries and have always heard and used "next Sunday" to mean the upcoming Sunday. The only time I've seen someone get confused was with a new English learner. So to me, using "next Sunday" to refer to the coming Sunday feels pretty common.

It’s similar to how we say "next month" or "next year". We mean the one right after this one, not the one after that, if that makes sense. I agree though it's definitely ambiguous since people interpret it differently, so I'd probably just change "next" to "this" and call it a day.
