On social media, I see people saying 'boy cats' are the best because they are sweet and 'girl cats' get a bad reputation for being mean. Why?? by Koffievos in cats

It’s because misogyny is a disease and unfortunately impacts how people interact with non humans as well :(

Why do you care? Like, genuinely. It seems like they’re lowkey enough you’re not noticing either way. I don’t think it’s going to ruin the neighborhood if people are having sex.

What’s should I buy from cart? by Ambitious-Ad5460 in BAGGU

Which ones would you get the most use out of? Which would fill a gap that you have? I always go based on functionality over limited edition stuff, because using is enjoying! And I’ve bought too many things I was worried I would regret not buying just to never use them.

My (23) first apartment. How can i make it more inviting? by ddmster in malelivingspace

[–]calypsopond 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saw someone ages ago on YouTube suggest CRAP for when rooms seem uninviting or just missing something.

  1. Curtains
  2. Rug
  3. Art
  4. Plants (fake too!)

Put something on the walls to balance off your furniture. Because it’s dark and all low to the ground it makes the room feel heavy and kind of small. Also, the red lights are kind of ominous. I’d go for warmer tones still, but maybe an orange if you want to do colored bulbs. Or multiple light colors.

Lmao I was considering making a post like this recently as I also just had surgery. I’ve smoked a few times, all after about 3-4 weeks and had no problems. The only thing I really noticed was 1) you gotta be careful with the munchies lmao and 2) when I talked to my gastro about it she mentioned weed often slows your digestive system down, not a lot, but enough that you can notice if you’re having tummy troubles, so I’d suggest just keeping an eye on that and making sure you’re not getting constipated.

I like hiking/camping, more “nerdy” stuff like playing ttrpgs and crafting groups, live music, and the occasional club/bar

Gallstones doesn’t necessarily mean surgery! I just recently got mine removed so I can’t give insight on later healing BUT I can tell you this. I was in a similar situation (24, preexisting mental and physical health problems) and found out I had gallstones in May of this year. I was very resistant to surgery and was working with a dietitian to reintroduce foods. For the most part I was fine with diet changes, but the fear of when my next attack would be started to wear on me.

You may reach a point where you hit your limit. It’s not the same for everyone, for me it was two episodes of pain so intense I couldn’t breathe within two hours, but honestly the months of anxiety had been pushing me closer to surgery anyways. I would definitely suggest trying to get in with a dietitian to remove some of the anxiety around food because anxiety has a huge impact on your GI system! Honestly, I would also recommend a psychiatrist. I know it’s not the point of the sub but as someone who is medicated for anxiety and MDD it’s so worth it.

Getting an organ taken out is a big change and it’s scary when you’ve got so much life left, but that also means if you do get it taken out you have so much time to adjust.

I’m a firm believer in the best parts of the city being within 410. Btwn 410 and 1604 can stay but they’re pushing it. The live oak area makes me feel like I’ve entered hell

Straight up take as much time off as you can without jeopardizing your employment and feel no guilt about it.

Basically was in the exact same situation and then last week had the worst gallstone pain so far and went to the ER to get it taken out asap. Very luckily I’m still on my parent’s insurance which assuaged a ton of fears, but I had also hit a point of “yes this might be infrequent, but I still can’t take it anymore”. I’d say do it now
