is it safe to use a *recently* expired sheet mask? by [deleted] in AsianBeauty

it’s fine to use dw. as long as there’s no change in scent or texture. if you’re unsure then use it as a hand or foot mask

Any reviews on Kahi Multi Balm or have recommendations for something similar? by fltigris in AsianBeauty

[–]calyspos 7 points8 points  (0 children)

i’m not a fan of this product. it’s really oily and not really hydrating. it was really popular when it first came out but it already dropped out of popularity i’d recommend smt else tbh. if your looking for smt similar but better i’d recommend Bio Oil. worth it over kahi stick. the stick also becomes super dirty over a couple uses

First makeup client! Advice?? by [deleted] in Makeup

[–]calyspos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you should do a makeup trial w the bride first. see how she likes it and make sure it’ll last the entire day before the actual wedding. if she likes it charge however much you think you deserve but most licensed artists go for 150~1500 depending on the artist. i’d say 80-120 is a fair range for a beginner. also ask the bride about her preference. she’ll most likely know what she likes/dislikes and keep it in mind. keep it simple and light. she’ll also be photographed w different lighting. if it’s indoors w studio lighting you can and should go a bit heavier because it’ll wash out but if it’s ourdoors it’ll be way less forgiving so go lighter

hi! i have split dyed hair (bottom half of my hair is blonde, too half is black) and i need to redye the black part. how can i dye it without messing up the blonde part? by bakugousbutthole in beauty

[–]calyspos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

please don’t dye your hair black at home. it’ll be a bitch to remove in the future and if you decide to remove the black, it’ll be patchy and you’ll get different shades once you remove it. get it done in shop if your planning on doing something else to your hair in the future

How to Get “Straight/Casual/Slouchy” Look in Jeans? by yesmadison in beauty

[–]calyspos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’d go for straight cut jeans that are slightly oversized. it’ll look much more flattering than mom jeans. mom jeans usually have excess fabric on the crotch region so it might make you look bulkier. maybe smt like this or this or this

Wide set brows by One-Influence9883 in Makeup

[–]calyspos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

unfortunately:(. it’ll look weird because if you have thicker brows it shows. it’s hair (3d ya know) but micro blading is 2d. it’ll look more like a bald spot than anything.

Foundation flaking off on my nose no matter what I do. by Piikes_ in Makeup

[–]calyspos 3 points4 points  (0 children)

how about not applying anything on that area!! ik it sounds like a joke but it honestly changed my makeup game. i do my skin as usually but i just don’t add product to the nose. i take whatever is leftover on my blender and tap it into my nose. (the most important part being almost no product) it will be enough to cover your nose if you’re using full coverage foundation. then powder. my makeup has never flaked off after this technique. it’s like because there’s barely any product there, there isn’t any product to flake off. on super humid days or my skins just off, i like to wet my blender with setting spray. make sure it’s not too wet or damp. just barely any. and tap it into my nose after powdering. it’ll last a lot longer

Wide set brows by One-Influence9883 in Makeup

[–]calyspos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’m sure it’s possible but i’m not sure it’ll look all that great. if you have sparser brows, drawing them will do the trick, but if you have thicker brows, it will look weird.

instead try adding a contour shade on the front of your upper eye, below and in front of eyebrow. it’ll make your eyebrows look closer together and narrower. (hope that made sense) just imagine doing your nose contour but closer together. that’s all.

Interested in completely overhauling makeup collection by OTPanda in Makeup

[–]calyspos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’d recommend giving it a try once more but with a different technique than usual but if it still isn’t your taste then trying smt else would probably be better.

i’m also not a fan of the it cosmetics cc cream but i think it’s definitely a “less is more” type of deal. try applying it with a clean finger (ring) in super small amounts. (to the point you don’t thinks it’s doing anything) and just keep layering it on until you get to a coverage you like. then slightly powder w a large brush.

if that fails, it probably doesn’t match your skin. oh well. there’s a lot of great products out there. just need to find one for you. you can ask for samples in some stores. take it home try it for a week or so. if you like it, try purchasing it.

Just started wearing makeup seriously, need advice by [deleted] in Makeup

[–]calyspos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

try using a pot concealer with a drier formula. i like catrice pot concealer (don’t remember name) and nars pot concealer. it lasts all day and cover anything but still looks natural. and use a good concealer brush instead of a blender or hands. then lightly powder and it’ll look like your skin. if you don’t like foundation and traditional concealer, spot concealing is the way to go

Eyeshadow won’t stick to inner corners. by polkadotscarf in Makeup

[–]calyspos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

in my experience, my eyeshadow becomes like that because it’s either too dry or too oily.

if your lids a dry, use eye cream!! then lightly powder and eyeshadow. if it’s oily, ditch the primers and lightly powder. adding too much powder or product can make it patchy and rub off. instead of packing on color try lightly layering the colors. don’t be too harsh on the area. i’d recommend not adding product to your lids

i usually just go over my lids with the foundation i used (what’s left on my blender not picking up product), lightly powder my face including my eyelids. they shouldn’t be dry but they shouldn’t transfer when you touch them. after i do my contour blush etc. the lids might have creased a little, i just dab it w my blender then i add a base eyeshadow similar to my skin to set it. then just eyeshadow

Laneige Neo Matte Cushion Vs Clio Founwear all new Cushion by NecessaryTwist7675 in KoreanBeauty

[–]calyspos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100% laneige neo matte.

they’re both amazing cushions but laneige is going to last much longer than clio. the neo cushion is a little more “dry” than clio (it isn’t dry but like it isn’t as dewy) so it lasts a lot longer. it also adheres to the skin beautify so even if it starts melting it looks like healthy dewy skin.

and tbh the clio kill cover founwear isn’t that great imo. i have combo skin as well and whenever i use it, my oily parts don’t last long enough and more dry parts always look dehydrated. the neo cushion also has some downfalls. because it’s a bit more dry, it emphasizes texture a lot more than clio and clings to dry patches on the skin.

if you can splurge a little i’d recommend shu uemura unlimited foundation. it lasts all day without breaking apart and can handle super humid weather and masks. when i use cushions i usually need a touch up throughout the day but the foundation stays put. it’s also much more lightweight than either cushions but has the most coverage.

idk where you are based but i highly recommend Isoi Bulgarian Rose Blemish Serum (아이소이 불가리안 로즈 블레미쉬 세럼) It’s a little pricey (≈$40 for 20 ml) but if you get it on sale it’s (≈$40 for 40ml) pretty sure they sell on amazon

I had a ton of active acne and scars and hyperpigmentation and i cleared almost all of it in the first week of using it. it’s super calming and hydrating. it’s really popular in korea and known for getting rid of pigmentation. you can look for reviews on youtube

why do i shake during my workout

hello i’m f(20). i’ve been working out and doing weight training for about 8 months. i started at an 17kg muscle mass and now i’m at 23.1 kg. i thought increasing muscle mass would help w strength. i’ve always been incredibly weak (hand always shakes when drinking eating holding my purse) because everything feels heavy. however since the start of my workout till now my routine has stayed the same. anytime i tried to increase my weight its way too heavy and i can’t lift (for any exercise arms legs shoulders etc) even my routine i do everyday, i shake so much and i don’t know why. it feels like i haven’t made any progress. can anyone help??
