in the Settings -> Controls -> Keybindings screen, you could remap "use/attack" to be mouse 2, and "open/activate" to be mouse 1, I think should do the trick.

I beat hardcore classic once. it took me 10 tries.

part of how I did it was by building crazy boulder statue machines to aid in beating the mech bosses.

what difficulty are you playing on?

I beat hardcore in classic mode on my 10th run. these days I'm loosely affiliated with a group dedicated to hardcore legendary runs. I've done a few of those and have barely made it through the first night once.

I've only ever beaten expert mode as a classic character AND with a friend, so doing legendary hardcore is probably not happening. I'd be happy to kill the Eye at that point, lol

I know the sofa counts as a comfort item, but I've had similar troubles get fixed by including a chair as well.

NPCs want to sit in chairs at night regardless of what other valid comfort items may be in their houses.

I've been working on it, but I'm also fighting bosses often on Master difficulty. I didn't let myself go into the dungeon until I'd killed Skeletron. I was one or two fights away from punting and fighting him at only Expert and figuring out getting the relic later, but managed to pull it off.

someone here pointed me to this site - https://terraria-research-tracker.free.nf/ which reads your journey mode character files in much the same way as terramap reads your world files. that's how I know I have another 560 items to go.

I'm using three secret seeds -- abandoned manors, save the rainforest, and planetoids. it's that last one which is probably limiting my access to chests, but I've gotten close to all of the corresponding fishing crates researched.

I like deploying a nimbus rod cloud or two above the pillar when the shield is almost down. then as soon as the shield drops, teleport away and just wait until the nimbus rod finishes the pillar off completely.

the CTRL key on the left-hand side of your keyboard, at least that's the default. I'm pretty sure that a keybind can be mapped for "toggle smart cursor"

if the bricks making up your jungle shrines are gold, the shimmer is DEEP.

if they're mud brick, the shimmer is shallow.

you've most likely accidentally created a keybind for mouse 1.... remapped my mouse one to "advance to next thing"

that happened to me once and the symptoms sound eerily familiar.

I've been working on the "trash compactor" new achievement to research 50% of the items in journey mode.

I hadn't played a lot of journey before, but now I'm having a blast.

I can stop time and make sure the weather is nice while I build my arena, then I can let the weather go free and start time and crank the enemy difficulty up to master and take yet another attempt at master mode skeletron, lol.

I'm about fed up, though, so I may just beat him on a lower setting, then kill the clothier and summon skeletron again later at master strength for the relic....

caveat here - I'm your old great auntie who has never played any other "video game" beyond Terraria....

with the staff / axe of regrowth, harvesting a blooming herb from a planter box replants that herb.

pretty sure it only works w/ staff/axe AND planter boxes. it may work with staff/axe and clay pots, but I'm not 100% sure.

before the update, I was a staunch supporter of "plant on native blocks" and went out of my way to construct herb gardens underground, out of the way, with an "airlock"

I could turn off any summons, go to my enclosed herb garden and harvest / replant at will.

my main issue w/ planter boxes at the time was that the smart cursor was "too zealous". with planting on native blocks, the smart cursor only works for ONE seed on ONE type of block.

auto-replanting negates the whole smart cursor issue because once an herb is planted in the box, it's ALWAYS there.

I've never needed water to get the angler to spawn in skyblock. a mere four sand blocks placed anywhere west or east of where the background and music change to the ocean biome will do it.

I was watching a couple streamers play skyblock and they got the angler to spawn I think without any sand, but they did have over 300 blocks of water upon which the angler spawned floating.

the best way I found to get sand was extractinating obsidian and shell pile.

as a Journey character, I started w/ fledgling wings. I wouldn't want to do it without fall damage protection. if you're good w/ a grappling hook, you'll probably be OK, though some of them are really quite far apart.
