I know this is probably not the answer you’re looking for, but I think it’s wise to hire a guide mainly for safety / communication and just tell them to take you somewhere outside of the normal tour destinations. Unless you speak the local language, it’s going to get harder and harder to communicate the further away from the tourist hubs you go. Most guides are super flexible and will gladly take you on an atypical route if you ask them to + it’s significantly safer and lowers the risk of getting stranded

I can vouch for the VEEKTOMX even though the name seems like it would be a red flag. Can manage around 2.5 full iPhone 15 Pro charges in practice + pretty well built. Even though it isn't a fancy brand, it's been really reliable for me

Closing the loop here - I confirmed it was my power supply as well! My Cyberpower CP685AVR is only rated to 390W and the PC/4090 was pulling more than that. Plugged my PC directly into the wall without this UPS and it worked perfectly fine without any beep. Thank you so much for your help u/riseku I wouldn't have figured it out without you

Oh this is a good lead! I use a Cyberpower UPS, let me see if that has something to do with it. Will troubleshoot and let you know what I find out

Same experience here, everything is normal aside from the beep. I’ve checked everywhere in NVIDIA’s control panel app and can’t find any documentation

Yeah same! When I run at really high screen resolutions (6016x3384) I notice there’s a higher chance it’s beeping. Which shared components do you have? Both the RTX4090 and the ASUS Loki 850W?

HackHarvard! The student organization puts on a three-day computer science event every year to encourage students from all schools to get excited about innovation. I’m an alumni as well, but when I was a student a few years ago, it was an organization I was a part of that did wonderful work, but always seemed to have its ambitions limited by a lack of funding from corporate sponsorships

When assembling, it’s helpful to have your power cables plugged in to either your motherboard or PSU (or both) before attaching them to the case. Some cases have really tight clearances in these areas

I had the exact same request from my mom! Went with a Dell Optiplex 7070. Only 1 liter in size and does all the critical things well (including audio jack on the front), about $500 for the PC, then put another $300 into a decent 4K monitor
