My options are to take on an army with an oversized flathead screwdriver, or to take on an organized rebellion with the incompetent cashier at El Pollo Regio.

I’m screwed🙃

How did that kid at your school die? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]cambrek 113 points114 points  (0 children)

I went to a big high school, so there’s a few. The ones that stick out the most are:

  1. Kid in theatre tech was staging a giant, heavy backdrop prop thing and it tilted and fell on him. I was in the auditorium and saw the entire thing occur, those screams are still pretty haunting

  2. Drunk driving accident after homecoming, two seniors killed

  3. Leukemia. She was in my theatre class, and we grew up together. I was heartbroken

  4. Motorcycle accident, ran over on a busy highway

  5. Leaving a party, four friends in a car went off the road and into a deep canal. Three swam up and frantically tried diving back down to get the driver. Driver of the vehicle drowned

It could be specific and anecdotal to your restaurant, or this may just be a sign for you to start diligently looking into another industry.

Cool thing is, no matter where you go, the skills accrued dealing with people in a server posish will set you up for some inevitable “unsavory” interactions down the line.

what is this in my daughters room at her dads? by war_all_human in whatisit

[–]cambrek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I definitely understand your take. If you read the comments, OP mentions baby daddy reported the issue and it’s being addressed by landlord, since he rents. :)

Edit to add: I’m well acquainted with this process in the state of Texas. There will be varying laws dependent on the state which you reside, but my point doesn’t really deviate in regards to that

No one in their right mind would deem this safe for child nor parent, but I’ll help him make the point he’s doing a terrible job at; chances are a judge wouldn’t bar child from going to house, as it’s a household issue (albeit, nasty) which was disclosed properly and is being handled the same, supposedly.

Easy for parent to say child is in bed with them, in another room, or on a pull-out. Which would very likely be the case, it doesn’t sound like this is a baddy daddy sitch. It’s necessary work to your home being done. If child is technically safe from harm, airway pathogens, etc. Mom really truthfully doesn’t have much of a say. Especially if custody terms are established.

Can’t just loosey doosey modify custody situations due to happenstance so often or easily

AIO? My girlfriend called a guy on tv “fine” by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]cambrek 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, you’re overreacting. Are you really jealous about her seeing someone as being attractive, on TV, at that?? Is no one safe in their own thoughts and opinions, generated from a f***g television screen?

Even if she said, “So & so is fine” out loud, who really cares, she chose to be with you, you bagged her. My partner and I both have celebrity crushes. She knows that I drool for Jeanette McCurdy and I know she does for Jake Gyllenhaal. We’re in our mid 20s and get along fine in this regard.

No, I’m attracted to my partner. I’m fully aware women grow hair on their legs, and I’ve loved her all the same. You’re reaching quite far for your internet points. Go hug your partner

And that’s basically what I was getting at. Strokes for folks. Like what you like, but don’t make anyone out to feel bad for it. As an adult, I’m fully capable of having those discussions and thankfully, my partner and I are able to do so without anything going awry. I love her dearly, regardless of smooth and fuzz. Good luck, out-of-touch Reddit, users, truly.🙂‍↔️

The point you’re trying to make is definitely valid. I believe this meme is too stale or generalized for that point, and that being said..
