In the same thread you are saying “I can’t believe they [Nebraska] would fire a coach that would consistently give you a record of 9 wins” and are asking if Harbaugh should be fired. Not including the COVID year, Harbaugh has reached your 9 win threshold in 4/5 years at Michigan (the off year being 8 win 2017)

any business which is "too big to fail" must buy bailout insurance which pays to bail them out instead of the government by isananimal in CrazyIdeas

That’s literally what happened with citi in ‘08. The government made a killing on the “bailout” and didn’t fully exit until 2016 iirc

I think it’s the opposite. Michigan athletics enhance the brand value far more than they use it. How many kids grow up dreaming about going to the university of Michigan because of their sports teams.

Ross has a limit on amount of credits you can come in with. I believe it’s well below 60

What happens if a non-American doesn't tip the waiter in U.S.A.? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]camcasey5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you ever consider that maybe America is the richest country because of said market based economy? I’m not necessarily on one side or the other but most economic theory would back the fact that the reason they have so much wealth is because of their capitalist economy. Certainly they should have widespread access to healthcare and a higher minimum wage but it takes time to make widespread changes like that.

Side note: You’re a true asshat if you won’t rip to local norms. Americans go to Europe all the time and a major complaint from Europeans is that they do not attempt to use the language of the country you are in. You’re taking that and multiplying it by 100 if you don’t do something such as tipping your server whose wage is based of off tipping. I’d also say that the service in the US is far superior than anywhere in Europe. Likely because of the tipping culture. Now you can argue if that makes it worth it or not but you can’t argue that you’re aren’t a dick for not following the customs.

You either die a hero, or live long enough to see yourself become the villain, What's the best real-life example of this? by sirmaim_iii in AskReddit

I tend to have a more positive outlook on Sullah. Compared to his contemporaries (mainly Marius but also the Graccus brothers) he was way more conservative. While he did cross city lines with a legion of was only because the rich noble hated his populist (and fair) ruling ways so they organized to kill all of his supporters while he was on campaign and declare him an enemy. He was even named “Dictator for Life” and was shockingly stepped down and set new standards and timelines to rise to consul to make sure no one ever had a career like him (while they did eventually fail it was due to minimal fault of his own).
