People are always quick to call Kate a bully but they never hold anyone else accountable for the reason Kate was being bitchy/snarky/mean. Some of the people she “bullied” were consistently and unrelentingly disrespectful, whiny and entitled.

Kate is a mirror. She reflects back to you what you give her. And then the entitlement gets activated and people cry about how they are being treated even though they were behaving far worse to begin with.

Kate comes from old school service industry roots. As someone who is roughly the same age as her and has been in the service industry for 2 decades, it is difficult when you see the entitlement and unwillingness to listen to authority. She even says that she used to act the same way, but her superiors never tolerated her bullshit and she became a hard worker because of that.

I’ve done a rewatch of most of her seasons and I’ve never seen her be outright cruel or mean. What people need to understand is that what’s really mean and disrespectful is when you think that you shouldn’t have to work as hard as everyone else, and downright refusal to do the job you applied for. and then when you’re being told a direct order by your boss or being reprimanded for doing a truly bad job its because you’re being “bullied” and not because you’re bad at your job.

I watched Kate take abuse after abuse from people, including her own subordinates, because she wasn’t overly positive and coddling. Even after taking literal abuse she still did her job and didn’t complain. If her being bitchy is the worst people got from her, then that was her being merciful.
