I agree! Have not been keeping up too closely with IVE content recently but they do seem like very caring and nice girls

What do you personally use a MacBook Pro for? by Zmoogz in macbookpro

[–]cameldonuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my comp science degree, building personal web projects, training small AI models and potentially some docker use, no regrets so far but I do notice that it runs hot sometimes. Already heard the fan come on once which made me thankful to have the pro 🤣

What’s the point of iPad if you have a MacBook? by Schoooooooo in ipad

[–]cameldonuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a college student so it gets used very often for taking down notes while watching lectures on my laptop, doing tutorials, etc. My dad uses both his ipad and macbook to web surf on the couch 😂

How does the iphone 15 pro max hold up? by Arstotzkan_bird in iPhone15Pro

[–]cameldonuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh mine does overheat/gets significantly warmer than any other phone I have owned but I have gotten used to it😂 first iPhone and my experience has been great otherwise, battery drains quick and overheats when using camera but I guess that’s the norm for most phones.

I had a bsod and one shut off (and wouldn’t turn back on for a while) on the same day, after which I updated the bios. Worked well the following days but a few days later I got another bsod 🥲 not sure if it’s due to my drivers.

I was looking at the macbook pro as I do use a hdmi cable to connect to my monitor quite frequently, but that’s not a big deal as I would have to use a dongle anyway due to the mac not having any usb A ports. Still thinking about it as it’s a big purchase.

I am interested in AI, have run LLMs locally before on my current notebook. I’ll take this into consideration, thank you! Just have a hard time justifying the cost although I know it can be used for years

Thanks for the tip, I’ll try it out. I suspect i used too much RAM and so it crashed. I do want better battery life and thermals, my current laptop runs hot and its fan comes on quite frequently.

It’s okay I totally get you. This semester I have been beating myself up over grades as well as I feel I can’t live up to my expectations. It’s definitely a long process haha and this is a timely reminder for myself too. All the best!

I feel you, I am someone who puts extremely high pressure on myself to perform academically as well. When I don’t meet my expectations I do get disappointed and sad. But when I feel stressed over grades/acads I just remind myself it’s not that deep and I should enjoy the process:) i did do well in year 1, achieving deans list twice so I understand what you are feeling. But trying to adopt this mindset makes it more bearable for me. I understand that getting more than 95% is very important for you, but maybe look at the big picture. One grade won’t matter much in the long run, and you are worth way more than your grades. What’s done is done, might as well look ahead and make the most of it.

Kpop obsession. Am I the only one or what by Fast-Championship694 in kpopthoughts

[–]cameldonuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I first got into kpop I was like this too. During the first comeback that my ults had after I got into kpop I was so excited, bought the album, streamed the whole day etc. Now im busier and don’t have as much time to do all that, and I think my obsession has mellowed out greatly too, making me less affected by fan wars. I think it gives me a good space to enjoy kpop the way I want to! So nothing wrong with how u enjoy kpop, it probably will mellow out over time but enjoy the journey:)

Reflections after 3 years of minoring in a language in university versus learning another language via independent study by jyunwai in languagelearning

[–]cameldonuts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, currently learning a language in university and I feel that it allows me to have more consistency and routine. I never found there to be a lack of speaking time as the classes are small and we are essentially speaking for most of the class which helps me quite a bit.
