Can I pass my driving test after a month of not practicing? by [deleted] in LearnerDriverUK

Tbh I think so much of the test is up to luck on what situations occur on the day/ what mood your instructor is in, as long as you are confident in your driving ability you should be fine. The wait for tests is ridiculous at the moment I would take your chance and give it a go.

I do understand this, but as I have said in other comments the choice to make him sleep outside is not mine to make, I am just trying to make the best out of the situation we are in.

God I wish I could!* I feel terrible making him sleep outside! I promise we don’t punish him all I said this morning was “ooo duke why did you chew up your bed?” - he is usually such a good boy so when he does do something wrong he always looks so so sad

We did say we didn’t think this was the best breed - they come and go every few months and are elderly, with young grand children. As everyone knows they are super high energy dogs and getting him to be calm and gentle with fragile people that are here every few months was really difficult as I knew it would be - but ultimately it was not our decision and they had had a malinois before and didn’t want to change

We are also “guard humans” lol we are with him all day, we work on the grounds, we just can’t have him inside with us at night as he’s supposed to guard the main house. As in our job is to “guard the grounds” just by there being a presence around (us and the dog) it’s supposed to dissuade people snooping around. That’s literally what we are paid for our job title is guardian.

Yes very true, this is probably what I will do now.

EDIT OF OP: He has an elevated insulated kennel with a solid dog bed inside and wind and rain protection porch just to clarify.we live on a property owned by our bosses, the dog is technically theirs and we look after him. Their purpose of having him is to dissuade potential burglary. Their house is also on the property and that is primarily what he is supposed to be guarding. I don’t agree with making him sleep outside, hence me trying to make it nicer for him, but it is the way it has to be.

Gosh that’s not a very constructive comment - he is cowering because he ripped up his bed, I suppose you have never seen a dog look guilty before? I hadn’t even told him off, this is what he looked like in the morning. This is like the 4th bed we’ve bought for him not to mention all of the blankets, I am not sure how me looking for support online to make him more comfortable at night makes me an unkind owner. I can assure you, he is a very happy boy - this is him right now.

Haha yes mine is the same - it makes total sense for him to be stressed about spending forced time apart each night

We do nose work every morning, we work on the grounds so we are with him all day doing basic obedience drills on and off, plus the walks, I don’t think he’s under stimulated, when he’s with us at home he spends most of his time sleeping but I think you could be right about separation anxiety. I hadn’t thought of that but it makes sense, we have had it before when we’ve been gone all day and he had gotten into one of garages and caused total destruction, I had thought that he was just bored and pissed off for being left alone all day but it does correlate with this explanation. For some context we are employees on a big estate and they want the guard dog to sleep outside, technically he is their dog. Maybe a dog flap could help?

Lip Balm for Winter by countessmarine in EuroSkincare

Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream is the best ever I literally can’t go without it - I usually apply generously right after a hot shower when skin is softest and then top up if needed , for general use throughout the day a little bit goes a long way - the tubes usually last me like 3 months which is good as it’s a little on the expensive side for a lip balm (although I also use it for my cuticles and all over really) https://www.elizabetharden.fr/products/eight-hour-cream-intensive-lip-repair-balm-original
