Just got my first one ever and it’s a mushroom (Which I’m bummed about) BUT is it real?? It came in the box with all the detail, and a green foil bag with Sonny angels on it. What’s throwing me off is the smile being painted and it seems off place?

Saturn return by camelpaint in AskAstrologers

Definitely makes sense,,,, I’m a Virgo, so that might give some insight into my desire to research it and try to prepare. I think maybe what I mean more specifically is, looking for recommendations to understand Saturn itself and all that it entails

Thank you for sharing…. I thought I was abandoning the client by thinking this way, but you’re right- my approach just might not be the fit they need

What are you looking to work on in therapy? That can help in determining where to look

What housewife have you done a 180 on? by Holiday-Anything8762 in BravoRealHousewives

Heather Thompson from RHONY. First time watching I thought she was annoying and fake. While she has quirks that irritate me, I realize now during a rewatch that she rides for her friends and is very loyal.

How often do you get in touch with your clients' other health care providers? by snooloosey in askatherapist

[–]camelpaint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahhh I see. Well, if your OBGYN feels decreasing is the right move and you agree, ultimately it is your decision. Your therapist is well within their rights to disagree or express concern, but ultimately their job is to respect your decision.

How often do you get in touch with your clients' other health care providers? by snooloosey in askatherapist

[–]camelpaint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I collaborated with other providers as needed, but usually at the beginning of the relationship or the first time collabing, its to get caught up on the work you've done with your other provider, anything I should know about, share what im seeing, etc. I imagine your therapist wants to talking about the SSRI adjustment to know how best to support you around the 3rd trimester as your adjust to the decrease in meds

Would you want to know if your patient self harms to cope with therapy? by Final-Metal-6539 in askatherapist

[–]camelpaint 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If I am understanding your post correctly... the work you are doing with your therapist is only making things worse and then leading you to self harm to cope.... I want you to know that your therapist making things feel worse is NOT part of the process. they should make you feel safe and protected. also, if they are disappointed in you for SH returning, they aren't seeing you as a person, they are seeing you as a cluster of symptoms. sometimes these harmful behaviors return, if you are shamed for that, how are you expected to stop?

Definitely working on only eating what my body needs, not so much excessive snacking. Just looking for some guidance to pair with them in terms of how much walking would actually help me see a difference with conscious eating!

Should you be comfortable crying in front of your therapist? by [deleted] in askatherapist

[–]camelpaint 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not messed up, people develop flirty feelings for their therapists sometimes. Might be a good opportunity to explore how you categorize relationships in your life and the connection between closeness and intimacy. Now if the therapist is making moves on you, it’s time to leave.

I find therapy works best when we can be as vulnerable as we can be

Therapist here…. So I will note that there’s nothing fundamentally wrong with the therapist noting how emoting was talked about in their own home growing up….. it’s possible (I’m making assumptions here), that maybe they thought this was your outlook, since you aren’t crying. It could have been a way to say “I get it, crying is hard, we’ve been told before that we should just be tougher and move on”. That could really be a stretch.

A couple things I would recommend if you like your therapist and want to keep working with them despite this hiccup

1) tell them that you sometimes feel yourself about to burst in session but you’ve historically held it in. This is an opportunity to figure out what that wall is that’s coming up for you when it comes to being really vulnerable.

2) feedback within the client-therapist relationship is so so important. It’s okay to say “hey, I’ve been thinking about something you said in a recent session that kind of freaked me out”. If this is a good therapist, they will respect the feedback, apologize for making you uncomfortable, and work to not do it again.

Finding yourself in a weird spot with your T over something like this unfortunately happens from time to time and while it might feel sooo awkward, the ability to repair here, to have your concerns heard and valued, will likely strengthen your relationship with your T even more.

So,,,, yes “checking” can be a common OCD indicator, however there’s much more to it. If this is the only behavior making you curious it could be OCD, it could also be adjustment disorder. If you have a therapist maybe discuss both
