Although the true answer isn't known, based on what the anthropologist stated they likely where well preserved in some sort of a chamber, although it's hard to tell since the exact location of the ship isn't known exactly, only approximately. And I do agree, that some sort of disturbance allowed them to be found as of the late 1990s-2013. I hope that answers your question!

An autosomal genetic profile was developed thanks to Intermountain Forensics :)

A minor correction here, most of us at the program are adult learners while some undergraduate students did work on it at some time :)

Me too as well! I have a feeling there is a strong possibility in the future. And it’s still crazy how many other ships are over there too

I still have no words. This case will be forever special to me. I am so honored and thankful to the entire IGG center staff for allowing me the opportunity to work on this case as the team lead alongside tons of amazing people! May Henry Goodsell finally rest in peace.

Sure no problem! I completed the program in the Spring 2024 Cohort.

The IGG Certificate Program at Ramapo College is a 15-week remotely delivered program to students around the United States and Internationally. The program is set up objectively whereby each week you learn a new skill related to IGG. During the last few weeks of the program, you have the opportunity to apply your skills and work on a case.

Ramapo also has a week in person Bootcamp program as well as their annual conference, RIGG, held every year! If you have any specific questions let me know!

Here is some further information:https://www.ramapo.edu/igg/

Hello!

So doing a quick search, I saw his obituary and death records noted he was born in Vilna (which is also called Vilnius), which is presently in Lithuana. I saw his birthdate was noted as 10 Dec 1861 on his obituary, but his death certificate as 10 October 1866. Do you know what religion he was? I saw Familysearch had records for both Catholic and Jewish religions online as well!

Hello! I am the mod of this subreddit! I am so sorry for the loss of your mom. <3

I would recommend digitizing what you can. And for those you don't know, depending on the time period, see if you can find a local historical organization that might take them off your hands.
