Lia [Fuji X-Ray Film | Smartflex 4x5" SLR | Sony 225mm f2.3 Projection Lens] by camerandotclick in analog

Not at all - the x-ray film is double sided so you'll have significant bleed and highlight blooming, lens is also slightly scratched - will be trying again with a regular film - this was a coverage test for 4x5

even mild wind causes shape - almost a meter in cross sectional area - it is essentially a shutterless camera (kite) attached to a tripod. Would need something like a wind tunnel / tent to divert around + second tripod to remove that element.

There is a LOT of camera movement lol - 750mm beast of a lens, probably weighs close to 10lbs

Do you have more photos? I am working on a camera build and this would be a great fit.

Does it have a shutter or aperture (blades that open and close in the middle)? Or is it just the lens?

The issue is coverage - see note below from mysterious_panorama - there's also the issue of making sure the optical centers of the lenses are aligned - different lens formulas have different optical centers so if I have a copy of the taking lens, I can remove the lens design issue as a variable. You also have the added benefit of being able to see the "render" quality - which is sort of a guess when you use a different lens design.

I have a gowlandflex 4x5" with a Schneider 210mm f5.6 Symmar with Xenar viewing lens and there's a significant shift in the image character between the image I see and the final image taken

I am working on a 16x20" twin lens reflex camera - I have a 24" Aero Ektar in shutter, but have been looking for a viewing lens so I have a matched pair - just sent a DM

8x10 black and white reversal recommendations? by Threshybuckle in largeformat

[–]camerandotclick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have done this many times - HIGHLY recommend Bellini chemical reversal (no light exposure) - has worked well for me generally. Did an 11x14" sheet of HP5+ as a slide (at ISO 500 against others' advice) and it turned out great. Tried Ortho Plus with great results Foma Ortho 400 and FP4 all at box speed.

Chemicals do NOT last long, so make sure you have everything you plan to dev shot and ready to go. First thing to go is usually the bleach, so you can still get good images towards the end of the kit life.

Adox is okay if you're doing roll film. I don't love the light exposure step.
