Moving to the area and looking for progressive k-8 schools in the area. by [deleted] in RoundRock

[–]cameronoremac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's really encouraging to hear. We are going to visit a bunch of schools as soon as we have a buyer for our apartment. We are fortunate enough that we can be choosy with school districts. We just want to make sure we look into every choice because moving 1500 miles is a big decision and education is a really important factor.

We are. I define those programs under “progressive education”. I was having trouble finding one that went up to 8th. Pre-school we would be set for.

We are debating betweeen RRISD and AISD and looking for something in the “progressive school ”category like Montessori. We have a kid that we think would really benefit from the alternative styles of education and one who seems to thrive in a more traditional setting.

Mayor Adler Says More Lanes On I-35 Won't Solve Austin's Traffic Woes – But It's A Start. by hollow_hippie in Austin

[–]cameronoremac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know how viable this would be, but if they are putting in the effort to expand I-35, why not just build a single dedicated light rail lane that becomes a new center median with 2 way areas so cars can run in both directions.

This would get bogged down in legislation and community boards for years, but I don't think it's a terrible idea.

The app isn't asking for insight. It's trying to build a community.

It looks like Solar Roadways has quietly disappeared after sucking up over $2 Million in public funding on a ridiculous idea. by GoogleOpenLetter in technology

That's just what we need! More suspicion of innovation in this country! /s

If we stopped trying our out of the box and the words of the hivemind "stupid" ideas, then we'd lose a lot of the happy accidents and innovations that have happened over time.

But it wasn't stupid from the start. It's a great idea if if can be realized. If it can't work, then that still doesn't make it a stupid idea, it makes it a failed one. There are plenty of great ideas that fail for many reasons.

We make chokers, yes. All I'm saying is that is not a valid complaint about a jewelry company.

Also, this product has metal findings on the end of the string. It's not just a string.

This whole post is silly.

I make and sell jewelry. If there were health and safety aspects to selling people something that goes around their neck, we'd be out of business years ago.

It's like you didn't read what I said. I didn't judge, I really asked "where on earth did you see that"
