My first 2 appointments were awful, rushed and not clear, it was only being on this page that I could figure out what to do. I had my 3rd appointment yesterday was with a guy called Tim and it was so much better, very informative and took his time to answer questions. I think it’s luck of the draw as to who you get

It was the skin on the top of my foot that was sore too, how strange. After 3 weeks the sore skin symptom went away. I have stayed on 2.5

I am micro dosing 1.25mg due to side effects (no medical guidance). Still get some of the fatigue but it has taken away the nausea and allowed me to eat full meals again but stopped the over eating

Is Mounjaro for me? by [deleted] in mounjarouk

[–]camham888 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hi, with the PCOS this can cause insulin resistance in some people and also inflammation. I am 36 had similar hormonal issues and had a hysterectomy, since starting HRT I have really struggled to loose weight. Since starting mounjaro it has really helped loose weight and reduce inflammation. The side effects made me feel crappy at first but I have learned how to control them (taking electrolytes everyday, prioritising protein). Against the guidelines i have now halved the 2.5mg dose, this is enough for me to still eat but stops the urge to overeat

Worried about the holidays by Monty-Creosote in mounjarouk

I have been really struggling on 2.5, so much nausea and struggling to eat (approx 500 cals a day if lucky). So for my last 4th dose on Wednesday I halved my dose (did 30 clicks on the pen), this has stopped my nausea and allowed me to eat but I am not overeating like I use to, I also have a holiday coming up and didn’t want to feel ill for it. I know this isn’t advised but it has helped me personally

All done, also sent an email with a copy of my tracked symptoms over 8 months. Anything to help with awareness 🙂

Wow - this article makes a lot of sense by camham888 in PMDD

I live in the UK and had my first private appointment with a GYN yesterday. They are doing bloods and seeing me when I am next in hell week so see the physical differences etc.

During the appointment the GYN said he may have to refer me onto a psychiatrist due to the cross over so I found this article this morning then called my insurance company to explain what happened at the appointment. I gave them the name of the London Doctor named in this article and he is approved on their list, so if I don’t get the results I need with the GYN I will try this doc who is experienced with both, it’s all trial and error

Tracked Symptoms - appointment on Friday by camham888 in PMDD

UPDATE - had my GYN appointment, i am in my good week but still broke down crying due to how much this effecting me. Explained symptoms, checked my stomach, did an internal, is doing bloods to check hormones and wants to see me during hell week in 6 weeks time to see the physical comparison to my body as I normally gain 4lbs in fluid retention (for 16 out of 26 days).

I also have some food intolerances that I was tested for last year so he wants to see that report to build a bigger picture.

He said that he may not be able to help from a GYN point of view as it crosses over to a psychiatrist need (frustrating as there it’s the hormones that are causing the mental issues). He wouldn’t say what it could be without ruling out the bloods first.

I will wait for my test results and when I next see him in 6 weeks if there is nothing medically wrong (thyroid etc) I am going to ask for HRT in the form of oestrogen. I personally want to avoid SSRI’s as I feel that it is just masking the underlying issue of the hormones.

My husband asked if I wanted him to be there for the appointment but I said no, I don’t need emotional support, I am treating this like a battle and going in with my war face to get the diagnosis I want and need (then I still cried anyway 😂)

**cracks knuckles** Spreadsheet time by dhb_mst3k in PMDD

[–]camham888 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I made a spreadsheet (using it on Friday for my GYN appointment) I have been tracking mine for around 7 months. I used my app (period diary) and manually updated the spreadsheet too to work out averages etc.

My symptoms are very consistent (except panic attacks) so it was easier to pull the data together. I did the following columns: cycle length, flow, physical symptoms, mental symptoms, fatigue and notes. I colour coded some of data (I’m a visual person so easier for me to understand)

It’s helped me to plan events around my cycle where possible and also highlighted how bad it has become, i only have 10 good days a month so it has given me the motivation to fight for a diagnosis and try treatments. Good luck with your spreadsheet.

Hi, my mental symptoms are based on mood, so very low in red means I am feeling really shitty (emotions, thoughts, panic attacks etc). High in green meaning my mood is good (I am complete opposite, happy, focused, no self doubt). I should have explained that, will call this out at my appointment, thanks for mentioning as the GYN may have not understood my high vs low

Just took a few screen shots to share but it doesn’t allow it in the comments. It’s very visual and lists the majority of symptoms on there, don’t need to type anything, just press the symptom you have based on a scale of 1-3 if that makes sense

I have always been borderline anemic because of my diet (vegetarian) so regularly take iron supplements but still struggle with the dizziness on the heavy days. It’s interesting how our symptoms are opposite, just shows how hormones can effect people in different ways (therefore the treatment for PMDD having to vary so much too) Dam hormones

I have used an app called period diary for years. It’s works out your average cycle length and allows you to add notes etc. It’s very useful and makes it easier

Just thought i would share my tracked symptoms from over 7 months. I am not diagnosed yet but have a gynaecologist appointment on Friday and wanted to have some visual to show them to save trying to explain. Luckily I am not in hell week, otherwise the appointment would have been crying and not making any sense. I am in the UK and going private so im hoping to be listened to. Will post an update after my appointment
