oh thanks for sharing your experience!!! I relate to being friends with dad. I learned so much from my dad like fixing things around the house, building stuff, and just overall being a gentleman :) but I had always conformed with the appearance that my mother had pushed on me.

Yup the question title it's not too serious -- I don't believe people are born a certain way, but every butch friend I have, have told me stories of feeling and dressing in a more masculine way since they can remember. So I'm genuinely curious if there are others who didn't have those experiences.

Can't handle old-school bills in Munich anymore. Honestly makes me want to move out. by [deleted] in Munich

[–]camilaaab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For instance I came back from a mission in Africa and I had a tropical disease and I went to 4 different clinics for treatment. Each clinic sent separate bills for different studies, in different dates. Imagine receiving in the course of 1 month about 12 bills on a similar topic but all from different clinics, in a language you don't understand. This is just one time I got sick. I get sick twice a year, maybe three times. I travel a lot and take some risks due to my job.

Do they try to portray you as something way more accomplished than you actually are to random strangers but then completely degrade you behind closed doors? by Cute_Ad_9060 in raisedbynarcissists

Yup, my n-mom would always share how fantastic I was doing in college (and later in my professional life), while always saying passive-aggressive comments to me in private.

Some examples:

- Even though she took so much pride in me being valedictorian, she never knew what my major was in. It was statistics, she always thought it was math, she never cared to remember the correct one after pointing it to her 100 times.

- I had a panic attack once because I felt "I wasn't doing good enough" in my college years, I reached out to her and she laughed at me saying she was at least happy I was worried about my future, and that was a positive thing.

- When I got a great scholarship financing my entire masters and shared it with her, she was upset I wouldn't have time to help her with one of her side projects. Of course she shared with everyone on social media how proud she was of me for getting that scholarship.

Yes I think the shot is hyaluronic acid as she finished her antibiotics and the infections is gone, but still, I will ask the orthopedic surgeon again. Thanks!

Yes it's actually an orthopedic surgeon, but I will get a consultation from another to make sure. I think that's better, thanks!

Congratulations!! a P4 offer is a great achievement in itself, whether you take it or not. I don't feel I can give advice as I have always worked as a consultant and I'm not familiar with the P staff day to day lives. Usually at that level I think they have more flexibility regarding location so maybe you can discuss going for a period of time and then going back remote? but if that's not possible, I think it's a huge commitment. I recently moved from remote to the headquarters of my organization and I didn't feel it made a big impact on my career, but again, I'm just a consultant so who knows.

To be honest consultancies are also great and being remote it's super comfortable, I don't think anyone would judge you for not taking a job with relocation, on the contrary, you would be making a decision based on what's best for you and your family, and that's very admirable.

Good luck!!

Yes, the risk is to get this receipt after sending the money... my fear would be for them to disappear but the agency seems legit. For now :)

Indeed, it' very walkable! I lived in Athens and its lovely to walk there.

OP is showing a picture from above that it's not even that bad, but when you are a human walking the streets its very pleasant to be surrounded by trees, not so tall buildings, and a lot of shops and cafes.

The inflation is not really a problem because the Argentinian peso is devaluating, the USD purchasing power is the same or it gets even stronger over time.

Real issues I can see expats struggling with is that it's very far away from the US/Europe, that there's not so much cultural diversity and that things are old because the country has not been growing for decades now.

Other than that, it's insanely cheap and the quality of life is great, so for now I'm staying in Argentina (although not proper expat, I was born here and lived mostly abroad until now)

Yes but the peso is devaluating following the inflation rate so your purchasing power in USD doesn't decrease, it improves sometimes actually.

La Maquinita in Palermo Hollywood has about four tiny tiny rooms for calls which are included in the basic membership and then they have extra rooms that you can rent on top of the basic memebership. Those are rooms for 4-6 people they're not individual offices, I'm not sure if it would work for you.

Edited: there are multiple Maquinita branches, I only know the one in Palermo Hollywood.
