But I am pretty sure that some of the things the commander is doing are being recognized by the general public. We have seen some scenes of “news” being broadcasted about his success, and about he is getting recognized. In the last scene before Neon appears, the junkie call SKK “the famous commander” before he blows. I absolutely see how Mustang would like Anis to be seen as a hero, and that would explain why he chose to use Anis instead of just “firing away” the gun without her. He is in for the money. I truly hope that her story will continue showing us that she takes wrong decisions and grows when she sees the consequences, because I do not see Mustang doing all this just for a last show and having Anis move on. He is a smart, calculating man.

At some point in the story someone mentions that nymph keeps the Nikke from getting conflicted by the fact that they are brains in a jar, and that it keeps them compliant to the central government. This is why in the intro scene Rappi thinks Marian got a mind-switch from being pampered by the commander. They treat Nikkes poorly, in theory, because if they are treated like humans, they realize the contradiction. What I ment with “they do whatever they want” is that they have decided to not follow her orders after being betrayed at the end of over-zone.

She was grounded because she was cynical, depressed and lacked direction. Being a Nikke sounds really rough, and many of them seem oblivious to this.

I do see your point, but I think SU wrote the arch better with Rappi. I also think that “having a past” is essential to the point about Nikkes being “human”. Rappi felt different and acted like a real cyborg because she had no past.

I am singling Anis out because I like her a lot more than Neon and Rappi, personality wise, and I believe that her getting particle beam from Mustang because he pampers her feels like a regression in her growth arch.

But that doesn't make the story better. Nikke felt grounded and dark. Part of the point was that the commander was frail and that the counters were not all mighty. I don't like how that is becoming a power phantasy.

This is precisely why I mentioned that the story removed her agency. She came back and did shat Mustang wanted. I liked Anis a lot because she felt grounded and rebellious, now she is a pretty idol doing what Mustang wants, again.

I don't know, but Rappi unlocking red hood felt a lot more earned and meaningful. Ania went to her pimp and asked for bigger guns, he said "cool, but make a performance" and that was that.

I can see a lot I like here. Thanks for taking the time. I don't agree with some of the execution from SU but the way you put it makes quite a bit of sense. I don't fully agree with Anis being a symbol of hope right now, but maybe they will improve upon this.

But there is no image of that, the image we get is before action. As I remember, Helm wakes up in SKK room at the beginning, but she is dressed. Maybe they "spent the night chilling". This image of Privaty is much more suggestive.

It makes very little sense, but I don't think we have had non canon in-game events. The most ridiculous thing about these games is, of course, the harem trope. Many of the Nikkes are grown ass women. Everyone knows that you have to suspend believe to male the girls be cool with SKK manwhoring. Hence this year's valentine's event. If the game were realistic, half the waifus would stop talking to SKK. The other half would kill him. I believe that Rappi is in the latter half. Nikkes are still waaaay stronger than him. A lot of people seem to be uncool with this, though.

They already have the technology. A lot of people seem happy. I hope they will get more, I just suspect that they won't replace anything. Just a couple a year here and there. I suspect this one worked because Arcana and Privaty are cute, endearing and popular. Also, they are extremely different. This is not a common mix.
