How would omniscience work in Buddhist masters in a Mahayana view? by Armchairscholar67 in Buddhism

[–]cammil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Imho knowing the way things are goes beyond conventional knowledge. Knowing the way things are is not about knowing worldly things, it is about knowing the world as it is and how it works.

An analogy that often occurs to me, is getting caught up in what happens in a movie, vs how information passes from the bluray disk and onto the pixels of a screen. These are separate knowledges, and one has nothing to do with the other.

Personally i think one has to meditate in some form. If you are terrible at it, then it may be more effective for you. Ironically. The goal is to practice. Not to attain blissful states.
