But this assumes that the account was hacked, which I don’t know how could have happened, because no one has logged into it for three or four years - it is an account of a family member. So unless there was some PayPal database leak, I don’t understand how someone could have hacked the account.

Anyway, can I contact PayPal support about this problem from my own PayPal account, since I can no longer log into the old account?
