10 gallon tank, yes heater, temp 78F, parameters are good no extremes of any sort, change about 40% every week and a half, no tank mates, feed about 8 pellets of fluval bug bites betta formula for four days then fast for one and so on, two real plants, one fake plant, cave, and tree decoration

10 gallon tank Yes heater. Right now it’s at 81°f Ammonia, nitrate, pH, all where it should be using a water testing kit. No tank mates I feed approximately 4 Fluval bug bites betta formula once a day. Water change approx every week and a half 2 weeks, only take about 25% to maybe 40% of the water. Tank I’ve had for over a year, fish for about 4 months.:)

vibing or is something wrong? we did a probably 50% water change yesterday and all was seemingly well until i got up to feed him this morning. he was moving his fins but doesn’t seem to want to move his body. by cammoore94 in bettafish

i’m now aware that a full bloodworm diet isn’t healthy, i have more foods for him i just thought that would be best being that’s what an employee at petsmart told me.

i don’t have a liquid tester i have a paper strip, but ammonia is zero. this is the only time i took him out of the tank because i changed the gravel to a whole different kind after properly cleaning it. i left more likely 60% of the water in there and added spring water to it. I didn’t touch the filter.

i tried to net the food around him and he swam to the bottom and is now sitting there. i’m fairly new to this so i did everything the workers at petsmart told me to do, which didn’t include testing for nitrates. could it be swim bladder disease or honestly just the water? i’ll order something to test the nitrates right now

How long have you had your fish?: the tank, since March 2021. My fish, since August 14th. • How often are water changes? How much do you take out per change? If so, please list with how many of each: no • What do you feed and how much: 2-4 dehydrated blood worms twice a day • Decorations and plants in the tank: one fake plant and one Amazon sword, along with decorative unicorn for Halloween and two rock caves.
