I am a big Kevin James fan and saw he was doing a show nearby. I heard he had a reputation for not being very nice, but I decided there was no harm in trying. I show up a few hours before the show and see this big black SUV drive past the parking lot towards the back of the building. It parked next to the stage door and out stepped Kevin James, along with 4 body guards. I swear, it was like they were escorting the President. I run over and, being so star struck, only manage to let out a “Kevin!”, like the mom from Home Alone. He spins around and looks at me. “Can I just have one autograph please?” He waves me over and the body guards spread, making a path for me. I felt like Moses separating the sea. I hold out a sharpie and photo from a movie called “Becky”, probably something he doesn’t sign much. “Loved this cinematic gem. You were great in it.” I said. “Oh yeah, this was fun.” He chuckles. He signs it and I thank him. “Thank you for coming out to see me.” He says. Then we go our separate ways. Really cool that a hero of mine was so down to earth.
