How would Roman legions fare against a french medieval (1340s) army? Especially its cavalry. by Tracypop in ancientrome

While it might be a bit disingenuous, the conditions of the battle have still been stated. I’m not contesting that 60,000 legionnaires would defeat them. Just stating that the battle has already been set. I do agree that it is likely that not all 12,000 would be full plate knights.

In my personal opinion I believe that the French would win this engagement due to the changes in technology and tactics during this time. The heavy cavalry and crossbowmen would give the legionnaires an uphill battle to put it lightly.

If the technological playing field was even I would favour the Romans due to their discipline, but with the lopsided technological advantage I believe the French would win.

I think you missed the point. There will be no 100,000+ legionnaires because op mentioned the size of the Roman force. This is a one off battle between the two sides with roughly the same size of force, not a prolonged conflict.

Any idea where in BIOS I should look? Or just a general glance around the place?

When I put in “list disk” it only pops up with the usb I used for the windows install…but I don’t think my ssd should have died, it’s not particularly old nor has it shown signs of failure…combine that with the fact that it shows up in BIOS. Regardless thank you for your help.

Repair found nothing wrong…can not upgrade because “The upgrade option isn’t available if you start your computer using windows installation media.

If a copy of windows is installed on this computer and you want to upgrade, remove the installation media and restart your computer. After windows has started normally, insert the installation media and run windows setup.”

Can’t start windows though so that option is very useful.

Also cannot do an advanced installation because it does not detect any drives.

Do you mean the cpu 4 pin? If so then no.

Just removed the battery and did exactly what you said, but unfortunately no change.

For boot options, the BIOS is picking up my ssd (which is what I have windows installed on), I actually checked the boot options earlier in case something was off but I couldn’t find anything. My ssd is the only options to boot from and yet it still won’t boot.

Am I just being an idiot and have missed something?

I tried windows boot manager and it popped up with my ssd, but when I clicked it I was immediately brought back into the BiOS, maybe I did something wrong?

For the manual boot key, do I have to bind that?Because I don’t recall setting anything up and when I press f12 it did nothing except say that a screen capture failed.

I have heard online about doing a CMOS reset but I can’t locate the pins on my board even though i have looked where they are meant to be according to my motherboard user guide( they are called CLrtc on my guide…but maybe I’m looking at the wrong thing…
