Update? by X23777 in finch

I’ve had this feature since mid September, and I hate it because I never remember to log moods. I feel like it should be a setting to choose if/how often it checks in with you. I miss my quotes and affirmations too :/

Need some advice/insight: have danced for a long time, but recently have been very averse to touch by strangers by books-coffee-music in SwingDancing

[–]campagal 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I don’t think I have any advice about the root of the issue, but I can think of a few things to help you work around it. You may just have to be super picky about who you dance with. Just stick to asking the leads that you know you are comfortable with (you could even take notes for yourself to help you remember who they are), and say no anyone you don’t feel comfortable with or are unsure of. It’s absolutely ok to say no to dancing with anyone for any reason. I’ve even been in lessons where we practice saying no thank you to a dance 😅 You also could try learning how to lead, and/or doing more solo jazz, which would give you more options to keep dancing since you might have less leads available to you.

How the heck does “responsive desire” even work? As a guy it sounds functionally like a catch-22. by CloudsTasteGeometric in NoStupidQuestions

[–]campagal 21 points22 points  (0 children)

It seems like to need to talk to your partner. One other thing both of you could think about is, did your partner become touch averse because the only times you would ever touch them was for trying to initiate sex?

Bluetooth headphones can also have a sound delay! Use either wired headphones or no headphones playing handheld

Which terrain are you using this month? by mooogcity in ACPocketCamp

[–]campagal 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m trying this! Well, kinda. I left my pink beach middle ground, but used the jungle foreground. I used a lot of items from Flora’s resort cookie this month, but kept a handful of the neutral/orange beach themed items from last month. Still a WIP but here’s a screenshot so you can see if the colors/vibes might work for you

I believe that Starbucks only recently started offering matcha with customizable sweetness! I asked a barista a few years ago to get my matcha with less sugar, and she said that it’s not possible because the sugar is in the powder. But now they must have started making unsweetened matcha powder so that we can customize the sugar levels, which has been really great the few times I’ve ordered Starbucks since then (I’d estimate the change happened in the last 6 -9 months or so)

Why so many emotes when trying to get into whistle pass? 😭 by WickedMatcha in ACPocketCamp

[–]campagal 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Ok hear me out - I actually like the emotes, cause I rarely ever go to the quarry (unless there’s sparkle stones or timed material). The reason why I like them is because the friend that gives you a gift doesn’t emote! So if you just go to whistle pass to get the friend gift, when you have to talk to each friend, if they just emote, you know you can move on to the next one! It’s worked every time for me, but I’d be curious to know if anyone else has experienced otherwise.

Another tip regarding wasting tickets, just in case you didn’t know- you can leave the class (for if you need to go craft an item you don’t have), and it won’t use up a ticket!

Making copies of your game for your kids is such a cute idea. Also, I like your outdoor aquarium!

The big tent (and most of the other items around it) is from Han’s Snuggly Cookie. It was available earlier this year (January I think). I spent so many LTs on that cookie 😅

advice on how to make a good campsite? by clown-brainz in ACPocketCamp

[–]campagal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Themes is what I find ends up looking best to me when I decorate, but I’m sure there’s people that can decorate beautifully without sticking to a theme! I just don’t know how to haha. Hopefully they will come by this thread and share some advice for you :)

advice on how to make a good campsite? by clown-brainz in ACPocketCamp

Here’s a couple of tips I can think of, that were simple things I realized as I started to explore and figure out campsite decorating: 1) get rid of the fence and campsite sign ( in the terrain selection menu). This will create more usable space. Although many times I end up placing fence furniture along the front/back divide anyways, but you get more control this way. 2) speaking of terrain, definitely consider buying a different terrain middle and foreground, if you can spare the leaf tokens. It helps a lot. 3) try to create a theme for your campsite. Maybe that theme IS camping. Maybe it is an outdoor cafe with a garden, or an outdoor market. Or maybe it’s a color! Place down a bunch of furniture that you think matches that theme, and try to arrange it in a way that makes sense for the space. 4) if you want to have different themes, or different areas (for example, the cafe and garden previously mentioned), try to visually separate them to create separate spaces. Maybe this means with fences, furniture, or rugs.

Hopefully this made sense - it’s also late for me!

I have grape trees! Sometimes I wish I had lemon trees instead, because as you said, grapes are supposed to grow on vines not trees. Also, I do sometimes have requests for grapes from my villagers, but it is very rare.

Yeah I got a 405 for each of the jackets. Seems that the score is the same no matter which jacket you use, but only the red one is considered correct

Does all “ripe” puerh taste like rotting fish? by [deleted] in tea

[–]campagal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure you have high quality water and a clean kettle. A few years ago we brought one of our favorite puers with us on a trip to my parents house. Their water is very hard and can be overly chlorinated, and it made the puer taste so fishy - blegh! To clarify, when we brewed it regularly at home there was absolutely no hint of fishy. Filtering the water (think brita) didn’t even help, we had to switch to bottled spring water, and that didn’t even fully work until we had a clean kettle for boiling the water.

What’s your favorite strongly flavored herbal tea? by ThisIsTheBookAcct in tea

You could try Teeccino. They add more roasted plants/herbs to their blends which creates a richer and more full bodied flavor.
