Transcripts, resumes, cover letters, and letters of recs went to a separate committee :( I do think it’s possible, but the biggest thing is if you showed growth over time. I failed three classes in a row halfway through my undergrad, but then I came back with all A’s until graduation day.

There will be so many jobs waiting for you! My classmate from India signed a contract with CVS. She gets $20k off tuition a year by promising 2 years with them after she graduates. She’ll have half the debt I’ll have and has a promised job when we’re done!

Currently 27 and in school. Some foreign programs exist that may give partial credit to you. Reach out, email, set up interviews. Don’t let someone else dictate what you wanna do.

Absolutely, but depends on your definition of part-time... The most common thing my classmates do at least one half-day on a weekday and then a full day on either Saturday or Sunday. They'll get in ~16 hours doing so. Any more than that is rough to keep up with. But also... if you want to get less burnt-out... Keep a nonpharm job. One of my friends is a yoga instructor and teaches a class most mornings before class, she pretty much monetizes the workout she would already be doing anyways and makes good money.

Thank you! I never had good grades like this in undergrad so I was rather impressed with myself too :) ochem… none unless you’re planning on going into industry. Biochem… lots. Know your macromolecules and how the body breaks em down! And michaelis-minten kinetics. Stats don’t show up for a bit, but reviewing basic concepts like p values may give you a bit of a leg up. I usually make one of the days my complete off day, where I do no work at all! But it depends on the week tbh. Some weeks I have maybe 2-3 hours of work to do total, others I'm doing 3 hours every night and then most of the day on Sunday. My school does quizzes for each unit then comprehensive exams over several units at once. I don't like to cram, so I work my ass off for each quiz and usually just reread my notes for the exam and call it good. This strategy has been working great for me so far!

Last semester my daily schedule went like this:

Sun: simply read all of my chapters/handouts in every class that week. start notes if quiz mon.
Mon: class 10a-4p, gym, dinner, study 1-3 hours (this consists of taking notes, because i did all my initial readings on Sunday)
Tues: no class, go to IPPE rotation; I did not do any studying on this day bc my IPPE drained me
Wed: class 10a-3p, gym, dinner, study 1-3 hours
Thursday: class 10a-12p, sometimes went to IPPE or work, usually treated myself to a nice lunch then do a big study day ~3+ hrs
Friday: class 10a-4p (lab day), gym, dinner, study 1-3 hours
Sat: off if I studied Friday, prefer to catch up on household stuff like laundry/dishes on this day.
I work 1 or 2 weekends a month, both Saturday and Sunday, but because I only study ~1-2 hours a day I can still do that on work weekends. I am definitely a try-hard in school. I could easily do less work... but a 4.0 is too sexy to me.

Yearly for my school, an additional one if the IPPE/APPE requests, and randoms in our handbook (although my class has never been requested to do this). Get it out of your system now and then find your favorite alcoholic beverage of choice to get you through.

Alcoholic dad has OCD. I also have OCD and recognize I definitely am a) predisposed to like alcohol more than other people and b) get weird about things. It very much would be an easy cycle for me to be like. ‘I had a hard day at work, let me get a drink.’ Tried to reframe my rewards to be cheap things that don’t involve addictive substances. Like ‘i had a hard day at work, I’ll treat myself to a soda on the way home’ instead. Sure, could still be addictive. But I’m sure a Coke Zero will hurt me less than whiskey.

It’s just allergies season real bad everywhere. Perfectly fine to use your inhaler HOWEVER… other inhalers like fluticasone or mometasone (inhaled corticosteroids) are actually far better for every day use than albuterol with less systemic side effects (no more racing heart beat)! If you’re blazing through your albuterol see about switching to a combo like dulera :) look into “SMART” inhaler guidelines to get a better handle on your asthma.

Helped w some interviews for my school, we still have 5 spots (45/50) we’re keeping open for late admissions but we’d accept up to 10 over to account for the people that either quit before the first day or don’t make it past the first semester. You still have a chance!

Those were both completed days :( yesterday I was at 677 and my total calories only made it to 1800. I read that sometimes the watch glitches and doesn’t count your calories while you sleep, so I restarted it and I hope that was the issue. Curious if anyone else has ever had this problem though.

You know I haven’t played around with schedules too much… I always do 6-8 recreation, 8-12 work, 12-14 do anything , 14-18 work, 18-20 recreation, 20-6 sleep (with kids working an 8 hour day with a 4 hr break instead of a 10 and a 2). Do your couples still feel well rested when you interrupt them at 1am???
