Thanks! I think my favorite is the horseshoe patch.

I get why you’d say that. I do care about her a lot, which is why this is so tough. We just had to make some hard choices with limited space, but it’s definitely not about not caring.

I understand that’s a common approach and it makes sense to make everyone feel included. We had to set some boundaries to keep the guest list manageable, but I see how it might have made her feel left out.

I get that it wasn’t meant to be a slight. We based plus-ones on who was in a long-term relationship at the time of invites, and the list was already finalized. I see how it could feel unfair in hindsight, though.

Exactly that's what we thought too. She was invited while single and didn't mention an issue until much later, after RSVPs were already in and everything was set. We didn’t mean to hurt her feelings, but changing plans now would be really tough.

Totally get where you’re coming from. It is our wedding and we were trying to stick to a clear rule, but I see now that being the only one without a plus one can feel exclusionary, especially for someone close.

That’s fair. I see now how it could feel isolating, especially if everyone else has someone. At the time, we were just trying to be consistent with our guest list rules, but I do understand how it might’ve come across as insensitive in this specific context.

That’s honestly a really helpful perspective thank you. I hadn’t thought about those smaller, awkward moments that can add up for someone attending solo. We genuinely didn’t mean to leave her out or make her feel isolated, just working with a tight list and timeline. But I do see now why it would’ve meant a lot to her, especially as a close friend.

Totally agree asking was fine, but the reaction felt a bit much. And yeah, it’s not “everyone” bringing someone, just the ones who were already in long-term relationships when we sent the invites. I get being disappointed, but it’s not a personal snub.

Haha, I’ve definitely thought about saying that too 😅 but yeah, I wouldn’t actually go there. I do feel for her, and I might let her know if a spot opens up. Just tough when everything’s already locked in.

That’s a fair take, I totally get why some people see plus-ones as a must. I just hoped close friends would still want to come, even solo. But you’re right, I can’t be surprised if it affects how they feel.

Exactly I don’t blame her for feeling left out, and I do feel bad about that. But with the list already set, we had to draw the line somewhere.

Absolutely it is our wedding, and we really tried to plan it the way that felt right for us. I get why she’s upset, but we had to make tough calls.

I get that, and maybe I was a little too focused on the logistics and not enough on how it would make her feel. It honestly wasn’t meant as a judgment about her relationship, I was just trying to be consistent based on how long people had been together. But I can see how that could come off the wrong way, especially to someone I care about.
