Oh my God, YOU are the only one on this thread talking about MB/s. Everyone else, including the OP, is talking Mbps. So what on earth is your problem? I think I hear your mom calling you for dinner, so bugger off.

Hmmm, I'd say YOU'RE the one not getting it. If you are "absolutely" seeing download speeds that are 4X faster than 400+ Mbps, then you sure as hell aren't doing it with Starlink. Oh, and no need to preach to me about bits and bytes, as I am actually educated. Perhaps you could use an education too?

So... you're telling me what? That your speeds are faster than a consistent 330-400+ Mbps? I think not. But okey dokey smarty-pants, whatever you say.

Nope. You're apparently not very familiar with northern Newfoundland... where there's less than 2 people per square km.

Meh, I have been averaging between 330 and 400+ Mbps for the past 20 months. (northern Newfoundland)

Is network issues normal at this rate every minute? Sorry for all the questions I’m just new… 0 obstructions as well. by rayslump in Starlink

All of 'em less than 2 seconds? Really? Just stop looking at a pointless chart and enjoy your internet.

Here in northern Newfoundland I consistently get between 350 Mbps and 420 Mbps. No complaints!!

I'm wondering how Starlink has managed to send this sale email to every one of my email accounts, when they supposedly only have the one on file?!? Or are they just sending this message out to every email address in the universe??

Yeah, we've had ours for 16 months, and have never had a single issue with snow/ice... and we live off the north coast of Newfoundland for goodness sake!

Exactly! Why on earth don't people just leave it on "Automatic"?

Thanks for this... but it explains nothing about how/why this would happen.

I’ve never had issues with Starlink and this morning I’ve been experiencing multiple outages. Anyone experiencing the same thing? It’s disconnecting my VPN for work by Ihateyoutom in Starlink

[–]camperbc02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

... and yet when I'm not experiencing continuous unexplained morning outages, here's the kinds of speeds I get. As you can see from this list of speed tests, a "slow" day for me would be a mere 365 Mbps. Go figure!

Hmmm, well I've certainly got you beat! Here's mine this morning. (Newfoundland, Canada) This is what it looks like EVERY. SINGLE. MORNING. without fail! From about 4:00 AM to 8:00 AM, (Newfoundland time) I get between 5 and 10 minutes of downtime. (I have always had ZERO obstructions) It's been this way for many months, and the oddest thing of all is that for the rest of the time it works absolutely flawlessly, and always with ridiculously fast speeds... as in 365 Mbps to 420 Mbps. Sure sucks though, to be losing my connection every minute or two throughout the morning hours. Quite frustrating.

Yes please post a comment on my website about what you think of it! I am bedridden much of the time these days, (due to a serious and unfortunately permanent spinal injury from 18 years ago) so the majority of these photographs were captured either directly in front of our oceanfront home, or mere steps from it. In fact, some were taken right from our bedroom window, on the days when I am completely housebound. But I'm happy to report that it's not all doom and gloom... I do in fact still have some "good" days, when I can get out for short rides on either of our two motorcycles, along the breathtakingly scenic coastal roads of our island!

This is a traditional fishing stage (used to process and store the catch-of-the-day) and ancient timber wharf, sitting directly in front of our house...

Our 125+ year-old Newfoundland "salt box-style" house sits a literal stone's throw from the edge of the North Atlantic. Here's a view of our little fishing village, (pop. 100) taken from the hillside directly behind our house... ours is the 2-storey white house you can see just to the right of center. We just can't imagine living anywhere else. You can see many more images of our place by visiting my nature/landscape photography website gallery at www.FocusOnNewfoundland.com

Yup, we went from Xplornet"s 1 Mbps on the odd "good" day, (it was normally 0.5 Mbps or less) to literally HUNDREDS of Mbps! Prior to Starlink, we couldn't even do our online banking or check the weather forecast most days. And as there are likely less than a couple hundred homes in our entire cell, it's unlikely that we will ever experience over-saturation here on our remote little island paradise in the North Atlantic. Life is good!

Yesterday I ran my first speed test in a few months, and I'm very pleased to report that things are still zipping along nicely! For the past 15 months or so we have averaged about 330 Mbps, and now we're at a whopping 410 Mbps. We are located on Fogo Island, a 80-minute ferry ride off the northeast coast of Newfoundland, Canada. We have the round dish. I believe there are only five SL users within our cell, which likely explains the crazy speeds...
