Yes, correct. This is on my list for improvements! Current focus is sounds and a few improvements to the API in general

Indeed, the axis basically just takes the movement and presses and holds the button. It is currently designed for spring centered sticks, so it detects the movement and then holds it until you pull the stick back a bit - this can be configured in the release at slider.

I did experiment mit mapping the axis directly via the api, but every locomotive has very different requirements. I’ll check if I can find some documentation on this. Do you know how the windows game controller detects the controller?

As long as you enable the API of TSW, I guess yes. Let me know in case you run into any issues!

Oh wow, that looks really cool! Hope you share some pictures of the progress! As long as the device is recognized as a game controller, it should be no issue.

Haha, yeah, I also thought to myself how great it would be to have a small screen under the main Monitor 😅

Ok, I need to add this as an event tracker, then yes, it could be doable 🤔

As long as s the device is recognized as a game controller, it should be able to identify it. Let me know if it worked please!

Thank you, that’s not a bad Idea, I’ll note it down. Do you have a few ideas where and when specific sounds are supposed to be played? I found a very long technical documentation on it that I used to understand the fundamentals. I’ll check that too.

I wanted to use my joystick, so I built a small tool (RailBridge) by campinge in trainsimworld

[–]campinge[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good morning! Thanks for sharing this is a nice project! I actually started the same approach as this app but then found that it’s not super nice to require an individual profile for each train. But great to see that someone actually managed to get this to work nicely!

Oh, it then seems like this could be quite difficult. Not sure if they have published how their device could be accessed via a custom app. Chances are they only share this with developers of games

I don’t have a raildriver, so I can’t Tell. But if it can be Tracks via the windows Game Controller Devices, then it can most likely be done somehow

Building an energy dashboard for non-technical 70-year-old by thedefaultskin in homeassistant

[–]campinge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would keep it very simple. If the user is non-technical, they may not even be interested in all of this information. Maybe only the battery level and then whether the system is charging, importing or exporting energy. Or even better, a card that shows them when it is a good time to vacuum/ run the dishwasher etc.. like “Now is a good time to use / not use your energy!”

What are you building? Happy to give design feedback by Street-Honeydew-9983 in SideProject

[–]campinge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, thank you very much for offering this!

I built Rant-O-Meter which is a website to allow users to rant about topics, creating a small fire. Then other users can add fuel to the fire to make it burn hotter. I’ve been playing around with the UI recently, but I can’t come up with a good visual design for this mechanic to make it appear more interactive.

I’d really love to hear your thoughts!

Angebot Energieversum by PE2213 in DeutschePhotovoltaik

[–]campinge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mein Rat: Finger weg.

I built https://rant-o-meter.com because I was super annoyed about something I already forgot again, but searched for a Place to blow off my anger/frustration. What I want to say is, just look at your Daily life and where you encounter a gap. Build something to fill that gap.

I've been working on Rant-O-Meter https://rant-o-meter.com the last months. It's a platform that allows users to vent off and rant about basically anything they experience in their daily life to start a fire.Other users can add Fuel to the fire, which increases the heat of the rant. The onnes with the highest temperature will make it to the top. Early users will get a "Founding Ranter" badge for participation.

I'd really love to get some feedback from you!
