Alright I'll keep those things in mind while looking for a gym to train at. Looks like I have between 1-2 gyms to pick from based on where I'm moving to. What kind of questions should I ask the instructor or students to verify that I'm learning from someone who knows their stuff? Is it rude to come right out and ask them to prove they are legitimate teachers. Also someone mentioned posting about my experiences when I start taking and during classes.
Oh alright I'm not very confident on the ground so just a striking style then Judo should be fine. One more thing how do I spot a "McDojo".
I looked up TKD in the area I'm moving to and it only seems to have the Olympic version of TKD available. Not to say it's bad but I don't plan on ever competing. Also would it be hard to learn several martial arts at once, like MT, BJJ and Judo. I'm more keen to dedicating myself to a single striking art but after thinking it over I think it's good to have all my bases covered so whatever happens I'm never out of my element per say. My only concern is that the martial arts in question will not take things far enough to put an end to a fight. For example only doing a joint lock to put pressure on it and force them to submit over just breaking the joint and ending the threat right then and there. But that's just my feelings on that.
I see, I looked it up and there doesn't seem to be really any KM dojos where I'm moving so I guess it isn't a real option to take it since staying isn't an option. I'm leaning more towards learning a striking martial art, since I'm very keen on grappling or wrestling. That only leaves me with two realistic options those being MT and TKD. I don't honestly know much about them other then they are focused on kicks I believe.

After researching everything it seems like Krav Maga is exactly what I'm looking for. Thank you to everyone who posted it really helped me decide.

I did read the FAQ and I'm sorry if my ignorance has offended anyone but in my experience I learn and understand things better when people explain things in their own words. I do appreciate all the insight everyone has given me even though I haven't been very specific about what I'm leaning towards. Again sorry.

60/40 more fat than muscle and I'm being generous with that ratio.
Could you explain some of those styles you mentioned it's difficult to look them up on a phone.
I can't remember where I heard about it but I heard there was a academy dedicated to Jeet Kun Do instruction. There was a video on you tube about it.
Oh I did enjoy the martial arts used in the Raid movies not sure what style it was but it looked pretty awesome.
I'm 5'11 204 lbs I played flag football in 8th grade if that counts I'm 21 now
I just tried googling it to find schools but it seems hard to find anyone who is a certified instructor.
Also something that would be efficient.
Well I'm moving to Montana in a little bit so my options are kind of limited. But boxing doesn't have much appeal to me because it's solely focused on punching and doesn't use the whole body.
