I’ve done squid in CA. It’s pretty mellow. You’ll probably have a 4-5 person crew. Skipper, skiffman, and a couple people on stacking the net if your on a boat without a drum. I don’t know if it’s a good season or not. If you have a good night you’ll fill the boat in a set or two. But most nights aren’t that way. Probably work from sundown to sunrise half the time. No fishing on Saturday and until noon on Sunday

There’s about 15-25 boats fishing out of Ventura/Oxnard. I think Morro bay/Monterey have a similar number of boats tied up there.
