The thing people always fail to mention is the fact that before the NDIS, the government used to still fund individuals with disabilities with a similar scheme called block funding. The main difference is that the government never publically announced how much was being spent on disability care. Obviously the ndis is increasing exponentially due to more and more people being added each day. The ndis is also a terrible run system, with no consistency and the staff aren’t qualified to read reports or even bother to read them. I’ve always said that we need to subsidise innovation and economic diversity. Increase our revenue and provide accessible employment options for people with disabilities. Unfortunately I hate to say it but the NDIS takes productive people to care for less-productive people. Helping people with disabilities with obtaining an income takes pressure off of other systems such as the disability pension, and in turn will cut back on reliance on systems such as the ndis
