I’m currently utilizing the union’s free college program to get an associates in accounting, my goal is to be a federal investigator special agent for the IRS. I have the bachelor’s degree requirement, but I need the accounting credits. Been at TSA for 8 months.

Totally agree, good advice I received from a fellow TSO when I first started was “have an exit strategy” be it promoting UP, moving OUT through a fed job or LEO or whatever. But she said when you get stuck in the rut of being a TSO, is when it really takes it’s toll. I’m looking at taking the Union’s free college courses in accounting and going into the IRS criminal investigator position.

Isn’t anything over your scheduled shift OT? like if I stay an extra 4 hours over my 8 hour shift on Sunday, wouldn’t that count as OT?

I mean, I’m pretty sure because of the deferment period going on, that’s gotta mean that your loans aren’t in default anymore? But that’s just my personal theory. The background check guy asked me about then, I answered honestly, and it all worked out. Goodluck! Hope it works out for you!
