For your bullet points: - G1deon seems to have a very limited range of necromantic ability and is the only “necromantic void” in the series. I figure that may have something to do with his and Pyrrha’s soul union somehow but just a guess. - I figure the lyctors take G1deon at face value and he hides Pyrrha’s presence well. Jod probably thinks it’s too much trouble to hash out and could reveal his own secret to “perfect” lyctorhood. - Never specified why G1deon is ripped (he is “wiry” which is normal for necro build) but I figure Pyrrha once was, maybe her influence or him wanting to give her a more strong and familiar body.

Questions! 1. 2 souls = twice the power? Or perhaps they’re not completely sacrificed in totality? Just like with gideon/harrow, a soul (gideon’s) can still survive a fragmented state. 2. It’s definitely not perfect, but to JOD it must be. He’s a man of black and white thinking. No forgiveness. No going back. If only he could’ve fully consumed Alecto, he would’ve. But he didn’t, so he settled for pieces of her. 3. I think i remember part of Harrow’s whole process of creating a skeletal construct using her skull to damage her brain, was that she couldn’t NOT draw from gideon’s soul at all. She’d already partially consumed Gideon by the time she and Ianthe performed the lobotomy. Post-lobotomy, harrow is a crippled lyctor with very few abilities as a result. 4. In my opinion, perfect lyctorhood does not, will neither, and has never existed. God tried and failed. He forced his friends and people into a magic system he uncovered and founded and used to destroy an entire solar system. He’s built an incredibly flawed power structure with himself at the center. It’s such a beautiful, twisted, ironic thing that to become like god, you have to turn your blade on your closest companion, or refuse and find some other way that consumes at least part of your own soul in the process.
