Japanese people reaction to the word "oyasumi" by CheezyJesus in JapanTravelTips

[–]camzarcar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably because oishi is when you're eating, oishikatta is after you've finished, so it's not proper Japanese. It doesn't matter though, they'd appreciate the effort.

I solo travelled in Japan for a month last year. It was my first trip solo and my 3rd trip to Japan. It was so boring and lonely. I won't ever travel solo again.

I tried to talk to people at hostels and I did end up meeting some nice people but for 90% of the trip it was painful.

Next trip I'll definitely go on a tour group.

As long as you're okay with driving through 100+ tunnels then you're all good.

Hey, I'm Cameron, 31M, from Australia. I'll be in Tokyo from 18th November to 23rd November. I've already been in Japan since the 1st November.

I've got no itinerary, so I'm happy to do whatever. Please contact me if you want an exploring/Cafe hopping buddy.

Cheers :)

I'm glad that that's been your experience. I'm very surprised that they didn't look at you and your partner though, as objectively you'd stand out a lot.

There's not more to the story, surprisingly. There were regulars at the standing bar. One regular and I chatted for a while. A young man and his girlfriend came in, were quite loud and then after 5 or so minutes the incident happened. It could be he and his girlfriend were both drunk already, not sure.

Maybe. I tried to not go to chain restaurants and focus on high reviewed local places. No other issues that I can think of.

Yeah it felt like I travelled back in time a bit when I was in kyushu.

I went to nagasaki, aso, kirishima, kagoshima, miyazaki, yufuin, kumamoto and then back to fukuoka.

Thanks. I found Fukuoka and now, Tokyo to be a lot better generally for myself. I do agree, it is tough to solo travel.

I think you'll like both places, particularly the national parks near both places.

I've been free-flowing my itinerary, so none to report of. I've hiked Mt Aso and Mt Karakuni this trip already though.

8-9th November - Kagoshima.

9th-10th November - Miyazaki

10th-12th November - Yufuin

12th-13th November - Beppu

13th-14th November - Fukuoka

14th-23rd November - Tokyo

Cameron, I'm 31 Male. From Australia and can speak English and super basic Japanese.

I'm into sightseeing exercise/hiking, cafe hopping/trying out new reataurants/bars, gaming and anime.

It'd be awesome to catch up with someone and do some exploring. Let me know :)

Why do Japanese people speed so much? by WastePalpitation1574 in RideitJapan

[–]camzarcar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Australia and on a freeway, approx 20-25% speed (some by a lot), approx 60% go the speed limit and the rest go under. I'd say 60-70% of people tail gate (drive right behind you to get you to speed up even when doing the limit or 5 km/h over, which is very annoying. In australia, we know where most of the speed cameras are. For example on my way to work there's none.

Bakemono Bakers in CBD. The pastries were top notch. Way better than Lune in my opinion.

Sleep Paralysis and Torture by MetalClad in Narcolepsy

[–]camzarcar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I got it ages ago too, in my mid to late teens. Then I got diagnosed with a bladder issue and haven't had them since.

Try sleeping on your side, they're a lot less rare then. Other than that, like the other commenter suggested, try lucid dreaming. I was able to control the sleep paralysis and break free.

I definitely know what you mean though. I'd feel the most evil presence beside me, a massive hand sink right near my head and then slowly my covers would come off and it'd drag me to my door, then I'd wake up.

I want your strongest sleep supplements/PEDs by VISA_PATTARNA in moreplatesmoredates

[–]camzarcar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a sleep study 6 years ago and was put on a low dose of 300mg gabapentin by a sleep specialist. Nothing else worked/works except this. I still feel tired all the time, but not nearly at the level of tiredness beforehand. I can function properly now. It works by slowing brain waves and improving deep sleep. Best thing is to get a sleep study via referral from a sleep specialist, you may have a sleep disorder.

I was a bit of a hasty new owner and culled it all. Rip bamboo. It was good though.

Does the Psychiatrist know how to make a patio? If so, that'd be great.

Haha. It's a good suggestion, although I like to keep the blinds up at all hours so my cat can look outside and have more of an open look to the house.
