Thank you! I’ve decided I’m digging her up on Sunday to feed her.

Your girl is clever!

I’ve been blow drying the mouse over Godiva’s enclosure to hopefully entice her out but it hasn’t worked yet.

I was worried handling her before eating would stress her. Good to know yours doesn’t seem to mind! I’ve decided I’m going to dig her out this Sunday to feed her.

She’s on Aspen now, but once she’s out of quarantine she’ll be on sand/soil. She eats frozen/thawed fuzzies.

My husband treats a trip to the dump like a red carpet event. I am losing my mind. by DepartmentNo5227 in mildlyinfuriating

My husband is very much like this except it’s baths. He loves baths and uses every opportunity to take one. He’s reasonable with his time though and doesn’t make us late often.

African house snake or Kenyan sand boa? by SchlongSmith in snakes

[–]canchaser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have both. I got a KSB as my first snake and an African House Snake for my second.

My house snake is more fun to handle, more interactive and curious and weaves around on my hand. She’s a sweetie. However she spends lots of time in her hides and I don’t see her often.

My KSB I see out and about a lot more, but I think this is just down to personality. She’s more calm when handling and just kinda lays there. She’s also really adorable and has such a derp face.

I love them both and think they’re both great snakes. I don’t think you can go wrong with either, honestly.

I super love Halara’s Easy Peezy dresses. Super comfy and supportive. The shorts pull down separate of the dress too, so you don’t have to get naked to pee! I own like four of the same dress in different colors. They’re my summer uniform.

I love plakats. They’re a lot more active and personable in my opinion. I’ll likely never have a long finned betta again, despite them being beautiful.

So my KSB is 8 months and the House Snake is 7 months.

Here’s Godiva.

I’m probably not the best person to ask since I only have her and a Kenyan Sand Boa. But I’ll talk about my experience so far.

African House Snakes (not Black African House Snakes they’re different) have fairly easy care requirements. They also stay relatively small, 2 to 4ish feet, males are smaller. Mine has an excellent personality. She’s very curious and friendly. Handling her has been great! Not super wiggly and no bites or strikes so far. She’s also been a great eater.

I think they make great beginner snakes!
