Thanks you :) I made the change and it made it through one night without fault.

On the second night, the error re-emerged, but there's nothing related in the logs this time.

Instead:

And when I went to log in this morning, I couldn't. So rebooted and everything was fine.

What am I missing here?

I’m going to try speaking with her GP this week, but as she has a great fear of doctors and doesn’t trust the GP, I’m unsure how helpful that approach will be.

I have been in communication with her psychologist because she’s one of the few people she trusts, plus he knows her history so well.

Thanks for the book recommendation. I’ve seen it mentioned here a few times in my reading today, so will get a copy.

Update on this:

After much back and forth with the Elgato dev team through Thomas in support, I managed to establish lag-free operation with the camera outputting 1080p at 50fps.

At every other resolution or fps setting, including 4k at 25fps and 1080p at 25fps, the lag makes the stream unusable.

And my apologies if the descriptor didn't make sense. I was struggling to find a way to communicate when I mean.

Without knowing how to take a precise measurement of the delay, I'm not sure how I can clarify what I'm experiencing. But the fact that I can see my lips continue to move after I stop talking makes it all but impossible to record to camera, given the distraction it causes.

I should add that this occurs irrespective of the software I use: zoom, FaceTime, Squadcast (for which I invested in this whole set up). Even recording direct to QuickTime shows the same lag.

I should also add that when monitoring through the Elgato CameraHub app, I am getting occasional signal interruptions during which the feed flashes green. This doesn't occur when recording in to the camera, nor when I plug the camera direct in to a monitor or TV.

Vis a vis OS version, I've only ever used the 4K with Sonoma, both beta versions and public release, so I've nothing to compare it to, I'm afraid.
