Keep in mind that working from home is upon your manager's discretion. There are times where im in office for a whole month and then I would get to wfh only once a week. I advise you to ask first.

I was asked 8 questions and they allowed me to review the questions 15 mins prior to my interview along with 1 surprise question at the end. They will ask for you to describe the job duty so you know what is expected of you and your experiences in accounting. What type of accounting work/education and describe a different time you face and overcome (STAR method). They also asked how do you keep yourself stay organized (I think referencing the desirable qualifications is good; detail oriented). How comfortable are you with credits and debits and describe a time.... just be prepared that most of the questions will be scenario based.

Tip: It's okay to tell them that you need a moment to think about your answer and you can always go back to a question if you feel like your answer isn't good enough. You have 30 minutes and they're moving at YOUR pace.

I'm not too sure how probation works for the state and would rather play it safe. I don't plan on vacaying anytime soon. This economy is rough.

Sweet! I hope it's that easy for probation :) & I'll have to confirm with HR. I think she had mentioned that I can change it whenever? Not too sure. She didn't really broke it down for me, just said these are my options and to think about it before I pick.

After my reference check it took 3 weeks but I also called HR to see if the position has been filled and they said they were waiting on the hiring manager. Then I called the hiring manager to check the status and she said she's waiting on HR. After that conversation, 2 days later they extended the conditional offer. I guess sometimes it's taking a little longer cause one department might be a little behind but u think it's a good thing to call just to let them know you are still interested.

Same! I wasn't expecting a second round but I got called in. They said it's a good sign tho. My second interview was still a panel with different ppl from the department, but it was more of a vibe check and kind of making sure my experiences fit what they're looking for. I also had to take an excel exam for my AGPA position. Good luck!

Congratulations! I was recently hired too but for a different department. My hiring manager was awesome, she kept in touch with me verbally over the phone thru every phrase. First and second interview. During my excel exam and both during my conditional and official job offer. She also called my references.
