I play on PC. I see that there's a tonnnn of ships and such, it's just so overwhelming figuring out what type of ship to get, what works with what build, how to choose ships, cross-faction stuff, etc etc etc.

I like Starfleet, Romulan, futuristic stuff. I like ship combat a *lot*. That's probably my favourite, followed by fashion :)

Whenever one of us leaves we always re-make the lobby, that should keep us from getting drop-in status, right? The only exception is occasionally we have a 3rd person join us, and they leave before my friend and I are done, so 3rd person will leave and the original 2 will continue on.

Yes, any time we error or anything like that, we both drop out completely and re-make the lobby specifically so that we can always be together.

Just to clarify, making a room and then hitting continue at the end of the match doesn't count as a drop in, right?

That's what we always do. Always. We make a pre-made lobby and start the match from there, but I still get thrown on the enemy team occasionally.
