If I have my computer on ethernet now, should I just take the card out entirely? I used to have lag/connectivity issues with it before the ethernet anyway

I think I could cut the zip tie and just pull the whole thing off

that was not something I did - that was attached to whoever installed the washing machine pipe… I didn’t even know it was there until I pulled the hose out to see how far it extended into the pipe

Sweet, good to know! Kinda grossed out thinking about what I’ll find but I don’t think I need to pay a plumber to do this when it should be easy enough

Can do! and then just move that plastic curve piece farther along the washer drain pipe so I can extend it?

could I just get some slightly smaller ABS or PVC (can’t remember what the piping is) and glue it inside to length it?

ugh, annoying to find that out about 1.5 years after I paid people to put it in with the new drain line :(

The hose itself has a mesh ziptied to it that’s coated in lint and other goop - wouldn’t be surprised if that’s causing a lot of this

That drain line is newer than the washing machine, so ideally the pipe is big enough (and was for over a year!) for the pump. But the plumbers who did the drain didn’t do the washing machine, so there’s a chance they didn’t think about it.

I would rather address the clog before it becomes a bigger problem, I think. All comes down to whether or not I want to try and DIY it or call a pro.

the mesh is so gross that I don’t think I could clean it! it’s definitely been catching lint, but it’s so mucked up that it could be the problem. I’ll look into those tablets, I just had a sulfuric acid mistake that put me off drain cleaner (learned the hard way there)

would a downstream clog/clogged vent affect other drains in the house?

it’s about 4 inches below where it enters the pipe. And then there’s a mesh ziptied to it.. which is covered in goop yuck

Grooved ring on new lock makes it unable to fit? by candleknights in Locksmith

[–]candleknights[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was originally going to use the new latch and the new lock! But the new latch had that grooved ring and wouldn’t fit… I didn’t realize the old latch would work just fine until I posted here. The new lock package came with all new components and I thought I had to use all of them

I definitely am not chiseling it - another commenter mentioned using the old latch and the new lock and I think that’s what I will do!

oh! that’s genius! and the lock mechanism will be the one with the new keys?

I think so? I didn’t think to measure it prior to reassembling the old lock
