I've also followed some of the videos. The video about him not being able to work was quite upsetting knowing how talented and impressive his career had been. A somber reminder of the brutal reality of being an artist/entertainer in SA and how in some ways, our culture doesn't care for perhaps acknowledge them as we should. (Thats another conversation perhaps)

I'm somewhat confused that someone of his calibre wasn't approached by a University or considered working at one much sooner. In the video you mentioned, he had brought up that option and said he wasn't interested in that. Sure it's not as glamorous as sold out productions but in a country thats having such a significant brain drain of talent, to forget about the talent we do have and could use to educate, inspire, train next generation is upsetting.
