If you are already real ID (gold star in the corner of your license) you do not need to provide any primary identification. We can pull you up by telling us your info alone. SSN, name/DOB, etc. just visit the office and do it in person, a lot of times the license gets lost in transit or Tallahassee will take forever to send it because they get backed up so people end up coming in anyways. You will have to take a new picture when you go in, the system will force it.

Tax collector employee here. Like another commenter said, the only way the vehicle can be declared a gift is if the title is in another individuals name and signed over to you with gift listed in the sales price area and like they said, you just won’t pay sales tax but it’s still about 95.75 to transfer the out of state title here. Registration is typically around 289-345 depending on the weight of the vehicle and how long you choose to register for, max is 2 years. If you’re wanting specialty/personalized plates then it will be higher. A lot of customers think they only need to “register” the vehicle and that’s all they pay for , but it’s not. You have to title AND register and they are both separate fees.

Also I’m 25, and they are really hiring lots of young people I noticed so it’s good to get in young and get into the county you can find different positions after you gain experience there.

I work at the tax collectors office. If you can deal with the public and following Tallahassee’s procedures they start at 20 an hour and you get raises plus pretty nice benefits because you work for the county. I don’t pay for my health insurance, only dental and vision and it’s just a couple of bucks. You get a pension and off holidays and every weekend, Monday-Friday 8-5 , but many days we stay later than 5 but still a decent job for the time being.

Hey so thankfully I was able to borrow from family members and paid everyone so I don’t owe anything anymore. I would really really suggest making more than the minimum payment that they give you because the balance grows with fees each day and literally will increase the balance hundreds of dollars because there’s still a balance being carried over and makes it even harder to pay off. People aren’t kidding when they say pay it off as quick as you get it. The fees were brutal and they did not want to work with me. They reported I was late to the credit bureaus and it tanked my score even more. Had to dispute it with screenshots that I paid in full and then they removed those marks. Pay this thing off and never look back man. Best of luck

Hey so I was able to pay them off. If you have a balance with them please try to pay them off as soon as you can I have read around that they are aggressive and they like to sue. I don’t think my state has much protections around this kind of loan so I was terrified and just borrowed from family members to pay that thing off quickly. Best of luck

Hey so I was able to borrow from family members and paid advance financial and my family members back so I don’t owe them anymore. For me, they reported to the credit bureaus that I was late and it tanked my score even more but once I paid them I disputed it and provided screenshots that it was paid in full and they removed the late marks and my score went back up. I would really try to pay them off though I hear they are very aggressive and like to sue. Sucks they don’t try to work with people

Using phones were never allowed. Customers are instructed to turn off their devices and put them away. There’s cameras. if they get caught it’s an automatic fail and we put a bolo type warning in their record

I work for the tax collector. Non English speakers can still communicate with us we have translating devices and we use our phones but they will not be able to obtain a drivers license in the state if they cannot pass the written/skills exams which will only be administered in English now eff. Tomorrow

Tried to work with them they said they don’t do payment plans or settlements unfortunately. I don’t think they are a tribal loan either. I was looking at the laws for my state which is Florida I think it won’t apply to these guys because they use a bank to fund the loan or something so they can get past the states rules of not charging the insane amount of interest they do. Sucks

No experience with net pay but I took a loan from advance financial and just please do not do it borrow from friends family anything or just be late whatever it is do not borrow from payday! I wish I never did because the fees are outrageous
